Madge Simmons Britt, 80, of Kingswood Nursing Home in Aberdeen and formerly of Candor, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (today), Dec. 27, at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Candor Town Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Britt was born March 18, 1926, in Montgomery County to Joseph B. Simmons and Minnie Comer Simmons. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a retired employee of Russ Knits.

Mrs. Britt is survived by her son, Thomas Russell Britt of West End; her sisters, Helen Hall of Charlotte, Alice Smith of Southern Pines and Patsy Williams of Candor; and three grandchildren.
