Elease Goodwin and Carolyn Warlick hosted the annual Christmas luncheon of the Aberdeen Home and Garden Club on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Camellia Park Coffee House.
President Fay Honeycutt opened the meeting with a prayer. She then introduced five honorary members who were present: Audrey Bobbitt, Kathryn Bowman, Jean Robbins, Criss Shields, and Margaret Tarlton. Two new members of the club, Paulette Kapp and Janet Kenworthy, were also present.
Program chairman, Louise Buchan, read a Christmas story, and Fay Honeycutt shared a Christmas poem. The hostesses distributed favors which included tea bags, a bulb for planting, and homemade fudge.
Browns Backers
The Cleveland Browns Backers of the Sandhills will meet at Broad Street Bar & Grill, 715 S.W. Broad St., Southern Pines Sunday, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. when the Browns play the Houston Texans.

The Eastern Star Quilters is in the midst of changing its meeting place. The club usually meets on the second Thursday at 7 p.m., but is considering a change to a Saturday afternoon.
Call Naomi at 692-0931 between 6 and 9 p.m. with input or if you are interested in joining the group.
The Moore County Kennel Club's monthly meeting will be held on the first Tuesday of the month, on Jan. 2, at the Table On The Green, located at Midland Country Club on Midland Road in Pinehurst. (Members, please note this is a new locale and new night for the meetings.)
Members may arrive at 6 p.m. to eat and visit; the business meeting starts at 7 p.m. At this month's meeting there will be the official election of the officers and directors of the club.
The kennel club welcomes and encourages anyone interested in dogs and their welfare to join them and find out what they're all about, says a spokesman.
