Our Favorite Holiday Flicks

The Word ranked the best holiday-themed movies. Here's what you should watch this season:

1. "A Christmas Story" -- Bob Clark's 1983 classic can't be beat around this time of year. Ralphie Parker alone gets our Christmas spirit going.

2. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" -- Who can beat the 1966 classic? When you see that malevolent, upturned smile and hear Boris Karloff's baritone, you know it's December again.

3. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" -- This 1964 gem is as much a part of Christmas as Santa himself. Relive your childhood as you watch Rudolph, and Henry, save the day.

4. "It's a Wonderful Life" -- Frank Capra's ultimate pick-me-up is the perfect antidote for any holiday blues. Jimmy Stewart can put anyone in the holiday spirit. "Every time a bell rings "

5. "Elf" -- Proving that not all holiday classics have to be old, Will Ferrel and "Elf" round out our top five. You'd be a real cotton-headed ninny-muggins to miss this one.

Also receiving votes:

"The Santa Clause," "White Christmas," "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," "Frosty the Snowman," "Love Actually," "A Charlie Brown Christmas," "Jingle All the Way" and "Home Alone 2."
