Alice Martin Ingram, 92, of Asheboro, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy.

The funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Dec. 16, at Holly Grove Deliverance Church of God, with Bishop Ricky Smith officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery in Eagle Springs.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at Ridge Funeral Home, Albemarle Road in Asheboro.

Mrs. Ingram was born Dec. 19, 1913, in Moore County, the oldest of 13 children of the late David and Hattie Lee Martin. She attended school in Moore County. At the age of 19, she left her home in Eagle Springs and moved to New York to help provide for her siblings. She was a professional cook and was always "there" for her family, stated a family member. She lived in New York until 10 years age when she came to live in Asheboro.

Mrs. Ingram was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Ingram, and her son, Samuel Ingram Jr.

Mrs. Ingram is survived by her four sisters, Charlene Gavin, Tero Sneed and Thelma McCaskill, all of Asheboro, and Inez Cole of Eagle Springs; several nieces and nephews; and a sister in Christ, Lois Cooper of Asheboro.
