William Blue Garner, 63, of Sanford, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Danny Redman officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Mr. Garner was born in Lee County to the late John William Garner and Alice McKay Waddell Garner. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and an elder. He was a former member of the Lee County Board of Education and was a long time member of the N.C. Farm Bureau and a member of the Board of Directors of the N.C. Farm Bureau. He was a member of the N.C. National Guard.

Mr. Garner is survived by his wife, Georgia Kimball Garner; his son, Jeffrey David Garner and his wife, Amy, of Hampstead; his daughter, Jodi Kathleen Garner Holbrook and her husband, Jason, of Carthage; three grandchildren, Abby Garner, Sarah Garner and Lilly Garner; and a special cousin, Mary Garner Upchurch and her husband, Wyatt, of Raeford.
