The funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins, with the Rev. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial followed in Pine Rest Cemetery, Robbins.

Mrs. Kearns was a native of Randolph County. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Kearns.

Mrs. Kearns is survived by her son, Charles Kearns and his wife, Linda, of Robbins; her daughters, Tammy May and her husband, Tim, of Seagrove, and Debbie Kearns of Batavia, N.Y.; a brother, Larry Owen of Seagrove; a sister, Doris Carter of Asheboro; and eight grandchildren, Daniel Kearns, Jenny Kearns and Katie Kearns, all of Robbins, Andy Ritch and Kimberly Ritch, both of Batavia, N.Y., and Drew Barker, Joshua May and Johnny May, all of Seagrove.
