In Germany, Oktoberfest takes place during the 16 days prior to the first Sunday in October, and is a celebration of the bounty of the area and normally features hearty German fare and a specially brewed beer.
The Oktoberfest in Pinehurst will feature traditional German food and beverage for sale, and dancing to the tunes of the Gootman Sauerkraut Band. The Fair Barn will open its doors at 6 p.m., and the band will play from 7 to 11 p.m.
Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple when purchased in advance. They can be purchased at the Country Bookshop, Given Memorial Library, Given Book Shop, King's and at the Pinehurst Village Hall. (Credit cards may be used at the village hall.) Ticket prices at the door will be $20 per person, or $30 per couple.
