POLICE BRIEFS: Drug Investigation Nets Three

Deputies seized about 3.5 ounces of powder cocaine, about one pound 1.5 ounces marijuana and $1,757 cash. Officers estimate the street value of the drugs at $11,150.
They arrested Norberto Bolanos Bomes, 38, of Carthage, Irineo Nunez Vergara, 30, of Sanford, and Valentin Martinez Vega, 41, of Sanford.
Deputies charged Vergara and Vega with three counts each of conspiracy to traffic cocaine and jailed them with $100,000 bonds.
They charged Gomez with eight counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, two counts of sell or deliver cocaine, three counts of maintaining a place to keep controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and two counts of sell or deliver marijuana.
He was jailed with a $300,000 bond.
Drug Charges: Sheriff's deputies arrested four Eagle Springs residents on drug charges July 21.
Officers of the Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit and Special Response Team searched a residence on N.C. 211 in Eagle Springs.
They seized about one pound, 3.2 ounces of marijuana, 31 "dosage units" of powder cocaine, 30 alprazolem pills, two marijuana plants, three firearms, $1,625 cash and drug paraphernalia.
The estimated street value of the drugs is nearly $6,000.
Deputies arrested Mike Allen Collins, 43, Valerie Copeland Collins, 41, Michael Allen Copeland, 21, Aaron Shavar Copeland, 20.
Deputies charged Mike Collins with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, manufacturing marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They charged Valerie Collins with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They charged the Copelands with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Michael Copeland has an additional charge of manufacturing marijuana and Aaron Copeland has an additional charge of felony possession of marijuana.
All four were jailed on $50,000 secured bonds.
Robbery: Aberdeen police are looking for the men who assaulted a man in the parking lot of Woodgreen Apartments on Aug. 1.
Unknown men robbed Boyce Binford Guy III of $60 cash, some cigarettes with a carrying tin and $150 eye glasses.
Breaking and Entering: Sheriff's deputies arrested two Durham residents and charged them with breaking into a home near Cameron.
Deputies arrested Rhonda Lynn Hancock, 26, and William Vernon Mustain II, 30, on Aug. 1. The pair are charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods.
Hancock and Mustain were released on $10,000 unsecured bonds. Their first court date is set for Aug. 21.
Assault: Sheriff's deputies responded to a call July 19 from Skyline Estates near Vass, where Richard Shaver of Vass reported that he'd been in a fight and struck by an unknown object.
The next day, deputies arrested Richard Bruce Dixon, 33, of Vass, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
He was released with a $7,500 unsecured bond.
Drug Charges: Aberdeen police arrested a 23-year-old Pinehurst resident on drug charges.
Police stopped a vehicle driven by Jonathan William Osborn on July 26 and seized six grams of marijuana and six hydrocodone pills.
Robbery: Southern Pines police arrested Robert Antwon Smith, 22, of Jackson Hamlet on July 24.
Police charged him with robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons. He was jailed with a $5,000 bond.
Stolen Cars: Sheriff's deputies got a report June 14 of the larceny of six vehicles from an Eagle Springs home.
Deputies recovered two of the vehicles at a salvage business. The other four had been sold for scrap and destroyed.
On July 12, deputies charged Russell Thomas Shaw Jr., 30, of Cameron, with six counts of larceny of a motor vehicle. He was released with a $25,000 unsecured bond.
Card Theft: Southern Pines police charged a Vass woman with 10 counts of financial transaction card theft on July 24.
Carolyn Renee Summerlin, 38, was jailed with a $5,000 bond.
Break-in: Sheriff's deputies arrested an Eagle Springs man on July 13 and charged him with breaking into a home on N.C. 24-27.
The victim told deputies that someone had entered his home and storage building sometime between the end of June and beginning of July and stole three firearms, a chain saw and a gas can.
Deputies arrested Brandon Matthew Nelson, 25, and charged him with three counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of felony larceny, three counts of felony possession of stolen goods and three counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
He was released with a $25,000 unsecured bond.
Break-in: Sheriff's deputies arrested two men on July 11 and charged them with stealing furniture from a home on Old U.S. 1 in Cameron.
The deputies charged Roger Kenneth Hardy, 42, of Carthage and John Ring, 39, of Cameron.
Officers charged both men with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods.
Hardy is also charged with a July 10 break-in to Cardinal Motors on Old U.S. 1 in Cameron. Deputies charged him with an additional count of felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.
Ring was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. Hardy was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
