Anthony Roman Martin died on the scene from injuries suffered in the crash, which occurred on George P. Road at shortly before midnight.

There were two other passengers in the vehicle. The Highway Patrol could not identify them because the investigating trooper has not finished the report and was off duty until today.

The Highway Patrol did reveal some preliminary findings. It said that the vehicle, a Ford truck, ran off the right side of the road, lost control, came back onto the road and went off the left side and down an embankment and struck a tree.

Trooper S.S. Richardson investigated.

A Highway Patrol spokesperson said that it would be Monday before any more details could be released.

A source on the scene said three people were trapped in the vehicle. Rescue workers had to cut off the top of the truck to remove them.

Workers also called for a helicopter, but none could come to their aid because of heavy haze.
