Way to go Andrew!!! The problem I see is that a bunch of over the hill Bible Thumpers are scared stiff of the younger generation leaving religion in droves, thus weakening their power base. I have known Mrs. Marquez for over 7 years. She is a wonderful woman. She was my Sons Liberian at Southern Pines Elementary. My heart goes out to the Marquez family for their loss.
As far as property taxes, try living on Youngs Road where I do, where land that has to be fertilized to grow grass, is valued at 35,000.00 or more per acre. The land has been in my wifes family for decades. We don't own a Horse Farm, but love living in such a beautiful part of Moore County. Yearly we scrape enough money togeter to pay the taxes, just the price of living where we do.
All this boils down to, is NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) Where would you have them put a new jail????? The main jail is usually in the seat of grovernment, Central in Raleigh, Meckenberg in Charlotte, ect. What about the cost & dangers of transporting a defendant to court, when the jail is not near the Courthouse???? Does the Southern Software programs work. If they do, don't fix it, if it isn't broke. If you go to a different software, what about the cost of teaching the people to use it, cost of licenses? Some people will step over a dollar to save a dime.

Am I White, English American or just an American. If they want to be African, go the hell back!!! The black leadership has been instrumental in stirring the crap. If this had been 4 white boys and a 80 year old black woman & man it would be called a hate crime. There would be marching, speeches by No Neck from the Raleigh NAAPC, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton. These guys are punk criminals, just like the ones whom killed Emily Haddock in Mt. Pleasent. People are getting tired of young punks who hide behind a gun and terrorize the honest people. When a few more get a cap popped in their butts, maybe they will start to get the idea.

Jail Opponents Resorting to Unfair Tactics
