What really sucks is that no-one has any respect for private property! It is wrong to steal an Obama sign or a Romney sign. But there is one funny thing I read here... you get paid to put up a Romney sign? LOL, maybe the GOP should do better things with their money! Too funny. Hell, I might even put up a Romney sign if they paid me enough. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't change my vote, nor do I think it would change anyone elses, but hey, show me the money! lol
DingoMike~ yours is an opinion that I can totally support. I personally feel that while Obama does have the best of intentions, I do not think he has yet been given the chance to truly make the changes he intends to do. But as Clinton said, no-one could have come in and cleaned up Bush's mess in 4 years. If, in 4 years, there was a Republican candidate who didn't cater to the Far Right extremists, I would surely consider giving them my vote. Sadly, with the deterioration of what was once a Great Republican party, I just don’t' see that happening.
I was not a Bush supporter, but once he became President, I saw him as such, and respected his office and that he was elected to that office. IMO, the "Far Right" has not given Obama that same respect. I don't believe anyone has to agree with everything the President does, in fact, sometimes they have to make those hard unpopular decisions to help to move our Country forward. But I do believe that we as American citizens owe the person who is elected to President the respect that is deserved.
IMO, if the Far Right hadn't fought him every step of the way, and spent countless days, hours and tax payer dollars blocking the President, and had put forth the effort that as elected officials they are supposed to do, to work in a Non Partisan environment, this country would be in a much better state today.
I understand that Romney constantly makes the claim that he was the Head of a Non Partisan government in Mass, but the people who worked with him say that this couldn't be further from the truth. That he had his agenda, and it didn't matter what anyone else said or did, that his agenda was how it would be. I might actually be able to find some respect for Romney if he would at least embrace Obamacare, since it is in fact modeled after Romneycare, but either he is so worried about catering to the Far Right, or he doesn't think that the entire country deserves what Mass has. Either way, he has flip flopped this entire campaign, and for anyone, like myself who actually watched all of the Debates in their entirety cannot deny. His own campaign Pollster said "We will not let this campaign be dictated by fact-checkers", in other words, we will lie all day if it will get us where we want to be.
I not only believe that Obama has the best of intentions, but I truly believe that Romney doesn't care about me. He said so in his 47% comment, followed up by Ryan's 30% comment. They can both say on a daily basis that they want to be President and Vice President for 100% of their Country until they are blue in the face, but that doesn't make it true. I also believe that if somehow Romney/Ryan did pull out a win, this country is headed to the Rich get Richer and the Poor get Poorer, something I, as well as countless others, simply cannot afford. As a woman and part of the 47%, I cannot and will not vote for Romney.
DannySteen~ actually I was saying that we should not hold Obama or Bush accountable for the acts of terrorism that took place during their term. I clearly stated that if we are going to point fingers at Obama for the loss of 4 American lives, then we also have to blame Bush for 9/11. Also, for the record, we have lost too many American lives due to the war, that has taken place during both terms.
Also, when did I ever say that Bush planned the whole thing? I mean seriously, this is what's wrong with this Nation. Just because at times others have said such things, you ASSUME that I do as well.
As for the facts, the information is out there. Since day one different sources have said that there was intelligence that the Bush Administration chose to Ignore. I’m not claiming to know if the intelligence was true, what I am saying is, if you choose to believe that the Obama administration chose to ignore intelligence, then one would hope you would hold your Precious George W to the same standard and judgments.
But I guess if Fox News doesn’t report on it, then it must not be true. Since they are the only non partisan media (sorry, it was hard to even type that one without laughing). I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, an old childhood lesson, if everyone else (the “liberal Media” says your wrong, you are probably wrong. Another that I’ve said before, I’ve never to ld anyone not to watch Fox, I just believe if you are going to claim to be informed on the issues, then you have to take time to check out at least one other News Outlets, like CNN. I know it’s a crazy thought, but it’s worth taking time to do.
Again, I am not, nor did I say that the lives lost on and since 9/11 was something to blame Bush for. What I am saying is if you choose to blame Obama for the 4 lives lost tragically at the consulate in Benghazi, then you must also hold Bush accountable. Honestly, it’s simple reasoning, if a president is held accountable for terrorist attacks, then that works for a Democratic or a Republican president. You can’t just blame the one that you don’t like, but in all fairness, it seems that’s the gist of the People now, the “Us vs. Them” mentality… what happened to We the People?
So, under Obama 4 Americans died on his watch. Under Bush, 9/11. And there are plenty of facts showing that the Government had advanced warning of 9/11, and little to nothing was done to prevent it. So lets not point fingers as to which president is to blame for the loss of more American lives.
Simply put, Bush made the mess, and now Obama is having to work to clean it up. Of course the economy is worse now, it is always worse after years of war. Here's a solution, end the war, and take care of America. Once America is doing well, then worry about everyone else.
Wow, comparing "illegals" to an actual Rape? To compare people seeking a new home, to someone being physically, mentally and sexually assaulted??? What is wrong with you?
For the record, rape is a lot more widespread than most people realize. Most women do not come forward when it comes to rape, even more so when it comes to someone they know raping them. They know that they will not only have to relive the event, but also stand persecution for someone else’s crime. And now, you all want to make it illegal for them to have an abortion? When their rights and dignity were stripped away from them once already by a rapist? Shame on you.
I just pray that none of you have to deal with someone you love, a wife, daughter, friend and so on being raped. Sadly I'm realizing that for some of you, unless it is that close to home you will never learn compassion or understanding for something you will NEVER truly understand. Again, a government run mostly by men should NOT HAVE A SAY IN WOMEN'S ISSUES when it comes to their bodies and their healthcare choices. And this is exactly why.
Immigration is an issue to be discussed, but immigration has NOTHING to do with Rape!!! And it has nothing to do with the Politicians who keep making idiotic statements like a woman’s body can "shut it down" and therefore not get pregnant. Like DR said, some high up in the GOP needs to tell them to keep their mouths shut about issues that they clearly either don't understand, or have no sympathy for.
Fugitiveguy: My grandfather was a great Man, Christian, Vet and Republican. What he would say is that he was ashamed of his party, for trying to deny rights to Gays and Women. He would also say that as a Nation, and humans, we should always be moving forward, not back. And taking rights from fellow Americans, rather you agree with them or not, is wrong. To add to that point, we are supposed to be "One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for ALL", not just for the chosen few.
I'm not saying that birth control should be free. Or even that Medicaid or other government funded insurance should pay for birth control. But if I pay for my insurance, I should have the right to get birth control with it. Also, if you talk to a Dr, you would learn that Birth control has many, MANY health benefits, just one of them is that it greatly reduces the risk of osteoporosis. As for the cost, sure, you can find BC pills that are about 20$, but most are more, and is that really even the point?
Furthermore, Insurance doesn't cover the cost of an abortion, unless it is for medical reasons. So should someone whose life is at risk be forced to pay full price for an abortion? I guess women are a dime a dozen, and to some it's ok to risk her life, if she cannot afford the cost out of pocket, just so that the insurance that she pays for, or her employer in some cases, chooses to deny her that benefit?!?!
I'd also like to point out that we don't see anyone trying to say that Men can't get Viagra from their Insurance, or better yet, that it's wrong and should be illegal. We also don't see the Far Right saying Men's insurance shouldn't cover vasectomies, now do we? But I guess they only have a problem if it's something for a woman, you know, since we just aren't smart enough to decide what's best for us. We need the men folk to do that for us.
Women have the right to health care, the same as men do. Men, and the far Right, do not have the right to make decisions on a woman’s body. Why is this a topic that is up for debate? It is sickening; we poor simple minded little women don't have the smarts to make up our own minds?
Please note I'm not saying Republicans, I'm saying the far right. As easy as it is to lump all republicans in together it simply isn't true. I have plenty of family and friends who are republicans, but believe in Gay Marriage, Women’s Rights, and all other kinds of crazy new wave ideas.
But, sadly, what my friends and family don't realize is that if they were to try to run for office, and be honest about their ideals, the Republican Party would not support them. This is one of the main problems with the Reps of today. I just can't figure out why the majority of the party doesn't realize what a bunch of hate mongers they are lumping themselves in with. All of these far Right should simply call themselves what they really are, either Tea-baggers, or what they really are which is a Hate Group. If the Reps really want to move forward, and represent "all 100%" of this country (which again, Romney is not, HE SAID IT HIMSELF, how can people still try to deny his 47% comment) then they need to step back and realize that a separation of their party is needed. To represent the country, you have to take into account the changes in the people.
LGBT members no longer have to hide their lifestyle in fear of being beaten or killed. Women no longer have to go to sketchy clinics, or resort to a coat hanger. And guess what, women and African Americans are now allowed to vote. So, supporting or defending people who make uneducated, dark aged comments are not helping your party! I think my own Grandfather, a hard core Republican, is rolling over in his grave at the hated his party now supports.
The simple point is women were offended by what Romney said, I was offended. But do we really expect any more from someone who thinks women shouldn't have control over their own bodies? Who knows, maybe he just thinks us poor little women just aren't smat enough to make up our own minds. As mad and for lack of a better word, grossed out as I was to hear "Binders full of Women", I can't say I was shocked, maybe shocked that he actually said it during the debate, when he knew he was on National TV, but from all of his other comments, this one is just par for the course.
Also, I'm still waiting to hear what loop holes he's going to close. Saying over and over he has a 5-point plan does not answer the question. The only reason to spend so much time avoiding giving an answer, is you know that the general public won't like what you have to say. Or, he might just think we aren't smart enough to understand his plan.
This entire steam is ridicules. Fact… Obama did save GM. For those of you who either don’t care for facts, or are too small minded to look at the facts, just talk to GM employees. Why people keep reporting lies is beyond me and sad to no end. And shame on you for posting this lie, and shame on all of you for adding to the lies. Try looking into facts. Hey, if you prefer (which I know you do) watching Fox news, at least spend an equal amount of time watching another station like CNN, and figure out what the truth is, don’t just trust one source, it’s just being badly informed.
If you are part of the top 1%, you should totally vote for Romney, it's in your best interest. If you think women are not capable of making decisions about their body and their health care, then yes, Vote for Romney. If you are ok with a man who closes US factories to open more in China, vote for Romney. If you think that getting handed a "binders full of Women" is the way to get more women in the workplace, vote for Romney. And if you think that an employer should give women flexible work schedules so they can be home to make dinner, then Mitt Romney is the Man for you.
But, if you are the other 99% of the country, if you are part of Romney's 47% that he said he didn't care about (or part of Ryan’s 30%), if you are a senior, if one day you want to collect Social Security, or Medicare, if you are a woman, if you think all American citizens should have the same rights, and you want a president who can answer a simple questions like what deductions are you getting rid of, then you need to vote for Obama!
It’s a simple choice, I just wish that people would stop perpetuating lies and get back to facts. You know facts, the things that used to get reported on????
