people need to realize that there is a big difference between assault weapons, and a gun that can be used to protect yourself. if you need some automatic weapon, then guess what, you're intentions are not good. having the right to defend yourself, does not mean having the right to kill tons of people at once.
You guys will never change. I'm pretty sure this article is about another Business closing, by a man who is not running his businesses well. Sure, he can open them, but he doesn't keep them up, improve the product he offers, heck even update his buildings. He's blaming the economy for his businesses failing, one after the other, but all of us have seen the number of businesses/restaurants that have popped up and are thriving here.
Who is president, the price of gas, heck even the national debt were not and are not factors here. Why does every article have to become about red vs. blue? Us vs. them? The problem with this Nation is not that Obama is president. It's that we have become a Nation with no respect for the office of President, who are a bunch of sore losers, who spend 90% of our time trying to pass the blame to everyone else. Buck up, start working to fix issues, stop waisting time bad mouthing each other, and calling each other names. I mean seriously, what adults spend their time name calling? These comments I'm seeing are why I have spent such little time as of late on here, a bunch of dang cry baby sore losers.
So let’s sort this out, he closed The Body Shop because the economy is down. Not because of poor owners, management, staffing or the facility. But apparently people can't "afford" a 14.99-19.99 a month membership (how much is a membership to FirstHealth or Gold’s?)
Now he's closed yet another Macs, and again, because of the economy. Not because of the owner, the management or staff.
Maybe he can't seem to keep businesses going because of how he's running them. We all know he opened too many Macs. Businesses usually don't run themselves; it takes things like marketing, strong management, a strong staff (which the Macs on 1 has) and keeping the customers happy. Plus, I am pretty sure how you treat people effects your business, so there is that.
But yep, it’s the economy, and in turn I’m sure Obama’s fault. It couldn’t possibly be due to how the business is run, or the people he had working for him.
Great Article Dusty!!! I'm not even going to waste my time to respond to most of these posts. The election is over, Obama Won, there is no huge cover up going on it is just another attempt to try to make Obama their Villain. It's sad to be honest, even more sad is that people keep posting these things against Obama, but the saddest part, they actually believe them.
Oh well, Dusty, You know what they say, you can lead a horse to water...
101jackson ~ "we have a system of government that is constantly needing more from fewer and fewer, yet allowing so many to join the ranks of the recipients of these many programs"
I'm glad to see that you've become an Obama supporter. Do you not get that this argument is supporting what Obama ran on? The rich need to pay more in taxes. The rich is a small amount of the country, I'm sure the numbers vary, but the top 1% of the country controls 42% of the Wealth. So, the Rich get Richer, and the Poor get poorer. Which translates into there being a larger burden on the Rich.
I can't believe that anyone honestly believes that the top 1 or 2% of the country should pay a smaller percentage rate then the rest of us. If I pay out say 20% to income tax, then the Rich jerks Trump or Rove should be paying at least that. The biggest problem here is for most of us paying out that much can be a huge drain on our lives, forcing many to rely on Food and Nutrition or other government help just to keep a roof over our heads and our families fed. While for a Trump or Rove it simply means one less jet or vacation home.
And we all need to worry about how the world views us. We used to be a Nation that others flocked to and dreamt of being a part of, and now we are feeding on each other and trying to oppress some of our citizens. Its sad watching this country go down the drains, I just pray that we will find our way out, in spite of Hate Mongers that want to do nothing but tear others down.
Great, Well written article. I enjoyed reading it.
southernpinesupperwestside~ I couldn't agree with you more on almost everything you've said. The problem is you aren't in the "Fox News Bubble" and therefore aren't filled with flat out lies 24/7. If most of these far right extremists, would take 30 minutes a day to tune into anything other than their talk radio and Fox, as well as various other news sources that base only about 10% of what they report on facts, then they would know that what they are saying is nothing more than a bunch of conspiracy theory, far right talking points.
But, they aren't going to. They aren't going to take the time to even attempt to see both sides of the coin. They don't want to. They actually still not only doubt, but believe that Obama was not born in America, that he's part of the Muslim Brotherhood, and that his sole purpose is to tear down America. Simply facts like a big part of the budget being where it is now is because he took a war that Bush openly kept off the books and put it on the books. But they keep blaming it on him. Simply put, we are never going to say anything to some of these people that is going to sink in.
Sadly, a good portion of the people I know and I'm close to, are also in this same "Bubble", and even if they are intelligent people in all other parts of their lives, for some reason they truly believe the garbage they are hearing daily. They don't care the slightest that there is simply no smoking gun. They don't want Obama in Office (and sadly even if they refuse to admit it I know part of it is based on the color of his skin) and they rather have someone like Romney, who couldn't keep his lies straight in office. It's sad, but there doesn't seem to be anything that will change their minds or get them to attempt to see both sides. It's the whole "US vs. Them" crap that has this country so divided.
skylinefirepest~ funny you should bring up not making the child in the first place... dosn't the far right want to take away women's right to purchace birthcontrol with their insurance? And I'm not even talking about medicaid, I'm talking about the insurance that I pay out of pocket for. But hey, it's not ok for women to get BC with their paid for insurance, but it's ok for Men to get crap like Viagra? Double standards, if it's for the benefit of men, it's just fine. If it's for the benefit of women, well, men think they have the right to control it. Simply put, if the abortion comments hadn't been out there during the election cycle, maybe Mitt could have won.
Plus, putting a picture of anything dead on here is low rent and tacky. And it's just another example of the extreme lows some will go to in an attempt to make a point.
What about the "freedom" to marry whomever we wish? What about the “freedom” of all Americans to have the same rights, not special rights, the same? What about the "freedom" to do what we want with our own bodies? Freedom is a word that is being used to often as a hash tag.
Freedom would mean that you want all people to be equal and have the freedom to live their lives free from the judgments of the hard right. I'm not saying all Reps, because I simply don't believe that all of the Republican Party is as judgmental and ignorant to the ways the world is changing. But the far right is what I'll never agree to compromise with. Not the Rep party as a whole, but anyone who is aligned with or part of that far right, well, simply put is not working for the good of the country, and certainly not for the good of women, they are only looking out for themselves.
I think it's been said enough lately. Either the Rep party can one, decide to break away from the far right. They can two, take a good long look at the part and see why this election was lost and what changes need to be made to conform to the youth and changing Nation. Or three, they can basically fade away. Personally I'd like to see the half of the Rep party that has true common since and morals to break away from the top of the soap box far right extremists that are pulling the entire party down. That would give the Dems a party that they could work with. I just don't see it happening.
I would like to personally thank drefleury for the craigslist link he posted here. That might be the funniest and best ideas I've head in a LONG time! Thanks Dre!!!

Oh, and by the way, at last I heard He doesn't offer healthcare, so lets not play the "Obamacare" card again.
