That's a very happy ending on what could have been a difficult story I know some of the people involved in this and they worked tirelessly on finding him a home I even met Kai one day and he was a very good boy Nice work Ladies

Agreed with FFWF I have seen cars blast up Longleaf Drive WELL over the limit....and no one does a thing about it....PPD could sit in my driveway and make their monthly quota in about an hour

Gents (PWE and SLFP).....Sorry, you are mistaken...I very much believe in the death penalty...And drunk driving should be a zero tolerance issue...And this is not about controlling the law abiding but making it more difficult to purchase a WMD like the one used in Newtown...You almost certainly drive a car, don't you? I would think you do not have an issue with the fact you have to learn how to drive it, properly register it, and it the wrong hands, it becomes a 4000 pound weapon.....There's a difference though when it comes to a gun like the one used 10 days ago? Really? And forgive me for not fully understanding that one is a fully automatic and the other a semi automatic...I am sure that difference was duly noted on Friday December 14th...And it IS political....Very much so....Don't kid yourself that it isn't...Much the same as it was after 9/11 and the resolve we saw as a country to attempt to prevent that from happening again.....Do you also have a problem with the TSA screening at the Airport and having to take off you shoes or does that run afoul of the personal liberties vs. collective good argument?...And please don't go on a rant about 9/11 and what or how you may interpret my feelings about those hideous people who killed innocent men, women, children and babies....I was there that horrible day....I lost friends and family and will never forget

Packwilleat...and I surmise your definition of freedom is being able to own an AK47 at whatever cost to the rest of society? Next time, maybe some "original thought" on your side might lead to a more well thought out discussion.... And, no, I obviously don't have the IQ needed, do I?

Well said, Phoenix I spent many years travelling internationally in my business and the safest place I ever visited was Singapore.....yes, there are some civil liberties that are curtailed for the "common good" (a notation that seems sadly lost on so many) in that City/State and the society is much more homogeneous than ours , but crime basically does not exist..We could learn from other societies believe it or not...

Packwilleat....Freedom and Individual Liberty....two things you seem to know so much about, but you don't exercise the simple liberty of voting in a democratic (small d) society.....And my low (160+) IQ, well, at least I'm not still living in a "dorm room" mentality that your sign on name would indicate....

Sorry Packwilleat, my IQ is actually 18 points short of Einstein's...... Nice try And by the way.... A: I am not omnipotent B: I do not have all the world's answers C: As it is so apparent to me, and I am sure others, that you have the all answers, what's the right one?

ninesyspup and skylinefirepest....I would hope we would be having this conversation as if not now, after the slaughter of 20 innocent children, then when? I own a shotgun and a revolver, and quite legally...and have been trained to use them...And, please correct me if I am wrong as I am not a gun aficianado,, but isn't the M16 a single shot or automatic weapon?....Just like the Bushmaster used 10 days ago? My point is that how much ability to kill do we need? At what point is enough firepower enough? Is there not some sanity to be had in this discussion? It makes no sense that ANYONE can walk into a gun show in this country and buy WHATEVER arms they want...no background check, nothing..tell me please (and my cousin in Newtown CT whose grandson was in Sandy Hook Elementary School that Friday morning and so thankfully came home that day...but, alas, not all his friends) that there finally needs to be a common sense approach to this madness in our ability to so easily find these "WMD's" right here at home
