We need a tax increase on those making more than 250,000 dollars per year. We need to stop giving so many tax breaks to corporations. We need to increase the debt limit. We need to increase social security. Decrease defense spending when possible. Increase spending on infrastructure.

I don't understand why people are debating this issue. We are going to have to increase the debt limit. We are not going to default. The republicans will not be able to continue their tickle down approach to economics nor will they be able to throw grandma under the bus with drastic cuts to social security.

With the falling American dollar the country is looking better and better for businesses to come to America. Hopefully we will produce and export more goods. I completely agree with FDR's second bill of rights. We need protection from unfair trade and monopolies overseas.

I agree the evidence was not there. I can not understand why the prosecution decided to charge with capital murder on such a weak case. Juries want solid evidence in death penalty cases. In this case I believe the jury made the right decision. It serves no justice to put just someone in jail. Everyone deserves a defense in a court of law. Some people who are guilty do go free but I would rather for guilty men go free than an innocent man go to jail.

I was not being emotional in my comment. In most of these situations that people write about in their posts they deserved a ticket. Why is it a sense of entitlement to expect police officers to do their jobs correctly? Most police officers are good people who are doing a tough job that honestly I would probably not be willing to do. This is a case of a couple of bad apples getting the press like we see on CNN. I do not drink. I do not go to bars or clubs. I do not support drinking and driving. I do believe in protecting the rights of Americans.

I have seen this behavior from the Pinehurst, Southern Pines, and Aberdeen police departments. They do sit outside restaurants and clubs waiting for people to leave. The atmosphere in this county seems to be that this is acceptable. I believe if we do want this to change we are going to have to make some changes at the top. Please remember this when it comes time to vote. We expect law enforcement to do their jobs in the correct manner.

I agree with ProudYankee. Its the shrinking middle class in America. Most of the social and economic problems we are facing today are a result of the shrinking middle class. The reason we can not compete on the world market is because of unfair trade. When you can pay a worker 25 cents a day, no overtime, no benefits, no holidays, work them 15 hours a day, and dispose of your waste in a hole behind the factory. How are American companies going to compete? To suggest that union are the problem of the working class is a strange thought at best. What is wrong with workers having bargaining power? Lets face it, if putting more money in to a rich man's pocket equals a better US economy then the working class of this country should have more jobs and money than they can use.
