I do not know the Kelly's but have had them in my prayers!! This is so tragic and heartbreaking! For Grace Kelly to even be working at her age is very admirable. My friend was shot and killed in Rockingham at the age of 49. Her husband is alive with half a bullet beside his heart. The man didn't know them AND doesn't even know why he shot them!!! That was 10 years ago ,and I remember it like it happened yesterday. Mr. Kelly sounds like a very fine man and gave his life to protect his wife's!! He will now be an angel in heaven watching down on his family! I agree with others that this crime of these young men should be dealt with accordingly. Instead of badgering innocent people, the DA needs to focus on a REAL crime!!
I feel that the owner should have known better than to lock the dog up in the car in excess heat. At Lowe's Foods one day, I spotted a dog in a car. Yes, the windows were cracked open some, but it was still too hot! I waited about 20 min. to see if the owners would come out. If not, I was going to take the tag number in Lowes and have it announced over the intercom. However, The dog was not in distress at this time. There may not have been time to look for the owner and the dog already needed care. I'm sure the lady learned a lesson and will never do that again!

To GodSaves..... I can tell that you are truly a child of God!! Amen that there are still people out there like you. True, God does allow us difficulties which in turn make us stronger. No one knows WHY??? it's not for us to question. All the PERFECT people are up in heaven. We have all made a wrong choice or decision in life at one time or another. Even ADULTS make bad decisions so how can we expect much more from teenagers. By the way, Doug had a guy stick a gun in his face AND got a black eye protecting this girl while they were going steady!!! He has kept her out of harms way so many times!! It's so sad that these two couldn't have a life together as planned. Doug's Dad is an angel watching down on him so hopefully justice will prevail!! Take care and stay safe this weekend!! Chuck... I appreciated your last response. The girls mom was in court. She probably could have spoken in Doug's defense, but the Judge was really interrogating her. She was crying because she thought she was going to get charged with allowing her minor daughter to sleep with a boy in HER home. Also, for allowing her daughter to run the streets at all hours. I regret not speaking up as well as my family regrets it. When you spend over 11,000 dollars to an attorney, you take his advice. We won't make that mistake this time. Doug gets permission for Holiday visits with family IF you must know. Are you that cold-hearted???? Want to bring up parent negligence?? What about the girl's parents who KNEW her age and allowed her overnights with her boyfriend. They also allowed her to go to clubs when Doug and his friend's played in a band!! Heck, SHE was allowed to stay out later than Doug!! Her mom came to my house to get Doug to go every where with them. Why would he think he was doing anything wrong??? I heard of a man who was registered and he went trick or treating, went to parks for his children's birthday, babysat children, went to mini pines park, attended school functions with his children, etc. etc. No one ever said a word . If my son should be punished, then ALL the boyfriends this girl had should be punished too. At least my son didn't use her like the other guys did. God Bless you for not judging people.

I am in disbelief at some of the cruel and heartless comments of human society!!! To golfin69... People don't have to convince ANYONE that Doug is a nice guy and the charges should be dropped. It's a known FACT by everyone who knows him including a magistrate whose daughter dated Doug. Maybe one day you will find yourself or a loved one in a situation beyond your control as Doug was by being in his FRIEND'S car. Then, just maybe, your eyes will be WIDE OPEN!!!
