Tim perpetrated his crime due to his anger at the government (yes, he was an idiot). 9/11 was done in the name of Islam. So we don't refer to him as a Christian Terrorist because he wasn't one. He didn't do it for religious reasons. We do refer to the Islamic Terrorists as such because they did do it for religious reasons.
"high-grade marijuana" - I've looked for the definition of that and don't find any. Is that just an attempt to justify arresting people who both are gainfully employed and not otherwise criminals? Just because the law says drugs are illegal doesn't make the law right. If that's the case, then I guess when the law said slavery was right, the law was right. The government has no business telling the citizens of the US what we can and cannot do with our own bodies as long as it is being done in the privacy of our own homes.
I am pro-gun if the gun is used for self defense only. No, I don't know the people involved, but I do know the war on drugs is a failed, racial policy. No, I don't use illegal drugs but I worked with criminals for years in Pennsylvania and found that too many people are incarcerated for using drugs in the privacy of their own homes.
I have a gun in my home. My neighbors have guns in their homes. Just because a person has a gun doesn't mean it is being used in crimes. Even if they do use drugs.
Again, I see far worse damage happening to people who use legal prescription drugs than those who use marijuana. I don't think cocaine is an asset to mankind, but what a person does TO THEMSELVES in the privacy of their own home is their business.
I have an incurable disease called Crohn's Disease. My drug supplier is the local pharmacy. I am prescribed Vicodin as a painkiller and many other drugs as well. The side effects are horrible. Much worse than the side effects of marijuana (yes, I've tried it).
Drugs are bad, but the drug war is worse. Thanks for the personal dig, however. That is usually the argument used when one can't overcome logic.
