We as a nation have become fat and lazy. This is a problem we brought on ourselves. Yes, it is a problem. Cheap labor equals higher taxes. Why don't we do what our fathers and grandfathers did and work! These people may not be terrorists, but they soak up tax dollars, bring drugs into our country, and kidnap fellow Americans (AZ).
Besides all of that, they are ILLEGAL immigrants. Illegal being the key word. It is against our law, how about we enforce it.
To all concerned citizens. Please think about this proposed jail for Carthage/Moore County. Not only is it a huge eyesore for the town of Carthage, but what I am concerned about is the saftey of the towns people. I am all about giving second chances to criminals, however, I don't want these criminals exiting this grand new overly expensive jail, supposedly reformed and socially responsible, hurting our good people that reside within Carthage town limits. The door to the jail will be facing our elementary school and ballpark. This seems real safe for our children.
Why could they (councilmen and women) not refurbish the all ready existing jail, which sits just outside of town. It would be less expensive and would make accessibility to our children, wives, husbands, and properties more difficult.
Why do these "good" people that we (carthage citizens) voted into office, not care about the wants and needs of us (carthagians) Maybe we need to take a better look at those people we voted for and see them for who they really are.
This jail will not provide any positive influence to our town or our towns people. If you love and care about our town, you will come to the towns meeting in June and speak up. If we stay silent, any poor outcome from this "grand, new, expensive" jail will be our fault.
Lets get together, speak up, ruffle the water and make a change for the better. Lets stop this jail from being placed smack in the middle of our beautiful town.

County Eyes $52.5 Million Bond Issue for Buildings
