Easy i beg to differ with you. i have an AR 15 with a five round mag and a scope i use for hunting Legally in several states and in fact i use it legally in Moore county because the state wildlife law states nothing larger than .22 cal in sandhills and mineral springs townships i.e. .223 22-250 222 22 win mag due to population density and horses in horse hunt country. Just because the rifle is black instead of fine grain wood or some commercial sporting camouflage pattern does not mean it can not be used for sport and game. Trust me when i say i would much rather use my Lever action Cowboy Style Winchester 30 30 but the game warden would charge me with a crime so therefore i carry my .223. Here is the law as quoted from the manual ● In Sandhill and Mineral Springs townships: (1) hunt any game animal on another’s land without possession of written per - mission of the owner or lessee; (2) hunt with a rifle of greater than .22 rimfire caliber or capable of firing .22 centerfire ammunition, except that a muzzleloading rifle may be used when positioned at least eight feet above the ground.

I have three children in moore county schools and if your are going to raise prices how about at least go back to feeding the children a decent amount of food. four chicken nuggets and a scoop of mashed potatoes for a high school age child in my opinion is totally unacceptable. i attended moore county schools my entire primary education from k-12 and i remember the lunches were actually quite good and you always had enough. i also remember the first people to the schools were usually the cafeteria staff because the actually had to cook something not throw it in a microwave. from what i saw the other day at union pines i am lead to assume that inmates in the county jail eat better than the kids in the school system today. Fix this problem and you might not hear as many complaints from students or parents if you need to raise the prices

by no means was i trying to discredit the rebuild job. i am tickled pink with the increased visability and the professionalism of every one of the officers i have met so far. perhaps i did read the comment "what have i gotten myself into" incorrectly as a swipe at the previous chiefs. as for the primary job of law enforcement i am well aware that the primary job is duhhhh enforcement but it is not the only job. too many small towns get new chiefs and officers and turn them into ticket mills and speed traps, i merely wished to remind the new chief not to neglect the community service aspect of the job. i have changed many a tire in the rain, check on the elderly of the communitys i worked and even patroled on foot on halloween with gun on one hip and a bag of candy on the other to hand out to the kids (if you get them on your side early they wont be painting the ms13 gang graffiti in the first place. as i said job well done and it was in no way meant to be a swipe at the new pd. Now TODA Shhhh no stories about convoys or neednose pliers to aid in removing uncooperative drivers through the car windows lol those days are now but fond memories

Nice of the writter to insult the fine work of Chief Grissom and Chief Bibey in the very first paragraph by quoting the new chief saying" what have i gotten myself into". Now that being said as a lifelong resident and former Vass PD Auxillary Officer congrats to the Chief for making the Upgrades needed the increased Visability should cut back on some of the speeding as well as other minor problems. But please dont forget you now head a department with a rich history of more than just traffic and criminal law enforcement but one of community service first. Every school day for the entire career of chief grissom rain or shine sleet or snow he stood in front of Vass school Twice a day and directed traffic on what was at the time other than I-95 the main route between florida and maine nor forget that ii and many others personally saw Chief Bibey pull money out of his own pocket to buy a stranded motorist a gallon of gas to get them to aberdeen, So Chief take it from me (also a former police chief of a small NC Town) you did not inherit a mess but rather a department with a long proud history of public service not just enforcement of the law

I would trade every meal i ever ate at beefeaters lobsteer or the barn for one more plate from evas or some of the now long gone restaurants from around the sandhills. there is simply no finer food on the face of this earth than good soul food... @ toohot if it is fixed right it is all atrociously high in sodium hence the reason i could blow a blood vessel at any given time of any given day.......fom years of eating just this way.... was it worth it You bet ya it was

One quick question to anyone who knows the answer. Grant was for 600,000 dollars, 410,000 was the budgeted amount for the actual work and the contract was awarded for 274,000 dollars. where did the balance of the money that was left over go. was it given back to the federal govt ?
