This plan would be an atrocity to the beauty in the Pinehurst and Southern Pines areas. As a resident of Pinehurst I have not seen any dangers presented on this strip but rather a delightful beauty that makes the commercial sprawl ahead more tolerable! Especially that eyesore of landscaping in the Hickory Tavern Plaza! Why is that specific part of 15/501 considered dangerous and the rest of the undivided road is not?? If safety is really a concern - focus on the lack of pedestrian crossings along 15/501 – many times I see individuals dancing through the multitude of cars trying to cross to the other side. Tell us how the citizens of Moore County can help stop this or create an alternative.
