I wonder how many families or individuals will be impacted because their income will decrease? The people who deliver this paper will no doubt have to seek alternate employment because of this change. I imagine those who found out this "news" before it hit the press were hit pretty hard by this reality. So, as you decide whether or not to subscribe online, continue to get the paper copy or simply take the 5 monthly freebies take some time to consider the ones who are truly losing something. There will always be news but jobs these days are much harder to come by.

Lorna knows education and the community. Her heart is in both and she serves well. She has my vote as long as she is willing to serve on the BoE.

The Burt's are amazing people and I also encourage giving food or used items to their ministry. You can always be sure the things you donate are being put to good use and given to people who truly need it. May God continue to bless the Burt's in their efforts and bless our community with their service.

Why "doesitmatter" where the principal is?? She obviously felt she needed to be there. I admire her for going to support the family. It shows great care and concern for her students. That being said, the recovery and well-being of the child is the only issue here. Many prayers for the child, his family and all involved.

This article is only about the murder of a woman and the one charged with it. My comment was in response to others "assuming" that the one charged MUST be a redneck and suggesting that this is "typical" redneck behavior. I can look at any news sourse on any given day and see that crime and violence know no boundaries. Every class and every race have criminals and victims. There are many comments on here that sway far away from the primary topic. Some reveal "gossip" about the families involved and others offend certain groups of people. My comment was only intended for the ones who are making derogatory statements. The most important statement in my comment is in reference to praying for the families involved. At the end of the day they are the only ones who matter. Our opinions mean nothing in the big picture.

I didn't realize rednecks were "typically crazy". I also didn't know they definitely wouldn't live on Pennsylvania Ave. Thanks for the insight..... I consider my semi-redneck self warned and I'll tell my other redneck friends that they may want to avoid the area so they won't be subjected to the bigotry in the above statements. However, I do agree with praying for the family and friends of those lost in this terrible tragedy.

I agree ncmom. I have seen many postings on here and facebook that are nothing but wanna be reporters who are doing nothing but gossiping and sharing only partial truths. Two people are dead and tragedy is left behind for the family to sort out. It's hard enough to grieve with the truth but to wade through all the here say and gossip makes them not only have to grieve but are potentially put in a position to defend their loved ones. This is not the National Inquirer - it is a reputable newspaper adding details as they get them. So, for now.....wait, pray and be considerate enough to respect those left behind. They only need our compassion not our petty need to repeat speculation. Whether we ever know the WHOLE story makes no difference. It's not our story to tell. Our only responsibility is to be respectful. Thanks ncmom for being a voice of reason in the midst of chaos. Seems those with a "filter" are few and far between.
