Nothing special, you are mistaken. You are trying to play down the truth and what you write is a desperate attempt to pass a measure that will ENSURE that more rights are lost. It is discriminatory, plain and simple.
Mrs. Lauer, the amendment doesn't "simply state" anything. You need to really read it in it's entirety. Even if you were correct, what right does an amendment have to legislate what constitutes a "family" or "marriage?" They need to stay out of it.
When did this become so directed to Jim Heim? Chin up Jim, pay the haters no attention. A really cool guy once said, "Don't feed the trolls!" Have a great day :)
Our country was founded on freedom of religion so how can forcing the beliefs of one religion be used as an argument for the way laws are made? They have nothing to do with one another. No religion has the right to force their belief system on anybody else. I get so tired of this thought process. You need to review the definition of RELIGIOUS FREEDOM and FREEDOM in general.
There was a vigil in Farmville three nights in a row. The point to remember is that there have been three people arrested for the murders. I would argue that anyone who is killed the way any of these people were could never be "blown out of proportion." If you can't say something nice, why can't you just walk away? You don't have to like it, gally, but your words are hurtful and I don't see why you feel the need to say those things.
Mr. Ward, I am awake and alert and have had coffee. You are wrong. The healthcare laws that are going into effect is the only way the 99% folks are going to be able to have healthcare. After a prostate cancer diagnosis, my husbands insurance was cancelled. There is not a single insurance company that will even discuss insurance with him. By mandating insurance coverage of some kind, the companies will be FORCED to be realistic and competitive in their rules and their pricing. Smaller businesses cannot affort to even partially cover their employees. I have worked in healthcare most of my life and it would help your argument if you knew how it worked.
I thought our country was founded on FREEDOM of religion not just for Christians? Whatever happened to that seperation of church and state thing, that was in there too, I think?

It’s Not Intolerance
Thanks for clearing that up for me, JimT, I should pay closer attention when the infidels speak.
