I hear you, Davey, you don't want to be told how to live your life, that and especially your last statement makes sense to me.
At the same time there are some folks worth at least forging an uneasy peace with to make life easier for all of us. Christian principaled folks for example are a huge resource for turning around this country, preserving a wholesome atmosphere for raising kids, for providing help to single parents and kids who are having troubles, and in so doing to help strategically prevent more folks from having their hands in our pockets. And one absolute is unavoidable - everyone votes their values.
The Detroit News endorsed Romney the other day. I'm voting for him even though that Detroit endorsement probably hurts/not helps Mitt in terms of your argument about used car salesmen, Mr. Redmond!!
Tony Evan's advice of using a third column for God brings up an important point for believers. Does God agree with current public opinion that religious view points taken from the Bible about many moral questions are either obsolete or that He wasn't being fair minded or liberal enough when he set certain standards? :-)
I'm going to miss those political ads and being left with only the oh so very "truthful and objective" "news" and commentary of ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC.
You know some of us had doubts about Mitt for a long time, but I think the party leaders were right to choose him early as the favorite. The more I see of Mitt, especially in these debates, the prouder I am of the Republican party.
Folks above, if you are rejecting Christianity based upon some obnoxious Christians you've met, that probably is a good reason for you but do you do everything because someone you like does it or do you actually study up on things? If the former I would recommend you immediately start regularly studying the Bible, the Consumer Reports Annual Buying Guide, and www.realclearpolitics.com.
Jim I actually do work with the military every day and you're right, it is surprising that you do indeed occasionally find military folks who will vote for the President again.
As the President at said in his speech this week there is absolutely no excuse (such as a video) for Muslims to kill others as the did on 9/111/12. The video was a barbarian's excuse. I wish the President had not felt the need to even acknowledge our feelings about inflamatory religious cuts, such as the video, since it gave attention and needless credence to the baseless video excuse and sounds weak to a people who probably are aware we don't show the same outrage for attacks against Christians. Extremey timely column.
It was my understanding that the reason the Growler plant was in Robbins in the first place was to use benefits possible for starting new business in a HUB Zone.
But generally you are right about government regulations. They may be part of the cause of our reduction in economic freedom, which started with Bush and continued with Obama

Great letter, Mr. Jacobs.
