Moore County

I did actually type Mourdock in my first comment but I immediately changed it to Akin because I realized I misspoke. That's what I get for responding when it's way past my bedtime.

First of all, this is old news. Second of all, I remember Romney asking for Akin's resignation days after he made the comment.

I think this article is a shining example of the content that the left is relying on at this point in the election. God forbid DR write an article on the happenings of Benghazi and how our CURRENT leadership allowed 4 American's to die and then lied about the whole story to cover it up.

No...that's not newsworthy. Let's talk some more about the rape comment from a few months ago.

Pooling our resources = distribution of wealth.

No thanks.

Seriously? A crime?

I think the crime is that you actually wrote this letter about a dead snake.

I imagine Romney would be in jail if he didn't pay taxes for ten years. It is quite possible that he has money in overseas accounts. It is also possible to do this legally.

I would like to remind you that this topic of tax records spun up after Obama said, "If you have a successful business, you didn't build that...someone helped you..." blah blah blah...

I personally don't care about Romney's taxes. He's smart and rich enough to hire the right people to keep him legal. I would much rather see Obama's college transcripts and, more importantly, where his college funding originated.

I am a Christian in a VERY traditional/conservative denomination. Yet, I see this as a Civil Rights issue. When we blatantly withhold liberties from a group of people based on sex, race, religion or sexual orientation, we are wrong. I may not approve of their lifestyle, but who am I to decide that they should not be able to provide healthcare or equally share custody of their children.

It's heartbreaking that if I share this opinion among my Christian peers, they will respond with vitriolic criticism. What happened to the Jesus who spoke to the woman at the well? The Jesus who saved the adulteress from being stoned to death? The Jesus who loved radically and threw out social expectations?

I think we are missing the mark. I think we are doing more harm than good by holding so steadfastly to tradition. Imagine what we could accomplish if we put THIS MUCH EFFORT into our missions. Imagine if we loved like Jesus.

"Perhaps instead of making so much noise, the cannons should emit balloons with peace symbols or little flags that say “bang.”

Really? Do you live in a cartoon?

I bet you wouldn't have submitted this letter ten years ago. Shame on you for forgetting.

Another example of what happens when people have too much time on their hands.

I admit that I was outgraged when I read this story. 70 years old? No license? And STILL driving...especially after dark? It makes me angry. Mr. Griffey is lucky to be alive and I pray that he has a full recovery.

So what's wrong with asking elderly floks to get a "specail ID card?"

How are you certain that there is no voter fraud in Moore and Scotland Counties? I have lived at the same address for 17 years and did not know a single volunteer at my voter location this past November.

We already have people asking us to verify our name and address? Where is the added cost for those people to ask for ID?

If this is the strongest arguement that we have for anti-photo ID-voting, then there is no arguement.
