Dusty; ----------hold it a minute--------make sure my heart is still in rythym--------there ok, good column . The journalistic integrity these days has gone the way of the "yellow journalism" of the turn of the 2oth century. From the written media, to air media, to video media to twitter etc, everybody wants to "get the edge" "front the story" and to do so either invent facts, develop innuendo, speculate issues, Too many pseudo writers want that "Pulitzer Prize" When most of them can't conjugate a verb. I can't believe I'm saying this -- but you actually said something .

Mr Deaton, Criminals do not have to register guns, they do not buy them across counters, so how exactly does your idea work?

Just shows the overall attitude here about profit over common sense. Well It your Southern Pines Pines/Pinehurst. You want Midland road paved complete, IT WILL HAPPEN. THOSE TREES WILL COMEDOWN. Just pack-em in. Friends, continued building will happen, but to wholesale do a new development, especially at this time, is foolhardy. NCDOT has destroyed the Pinehurst corridor, access to a massive hospital system, [that utter millions have been invested in] and I GUARENTEE, that circle will be gone [ which is a NCDOT plan all along] Good luck.

Why, Dusty should taxpayer money be GIVEN to ones who just buy drugs with it? and they will, ------but you know that, you deal with it in the courts, right? it's YOUR bread and butter so to speak.

Actually Ron, I may be proven right but I doubt I'll live that long to see it. Experience over the years has taught me a great deal.

really? pay for the drug tests, shouldn't this save a whole passel more in tax waste? where are your priorities? ? But jerry the Pilot is in the pockets of progressive Moore county liberals, not on the side of responsibility.

And by the way the area around the Eye Clinic was approved for commercial development so yes commercial development is the spector here. Now as for the trees being a danger to driving along the midland corridor, most of the accidents are pure carelessness, Cell phones and texting or somebody with a snootful coming out of the Ironwood Café. As for residential developments I wouldn't hold my breath just yet. There seems to be much talk but little action. you might get a house or two but full scale development will not be much of a factor at this time. Economics not right.

Need to NCDOT OUT of the picture. They are a dictatorial morass of poor engineering.

Hayter and the Moore County planning department along with the chamber of Commerce and the business development community MUST determine what Moore County is intended to look like 20 years hence. The RTE 1 corridor with 15/501 is a commercial tie between Aberdeen, Pinehurst and Southern Pines and should be utilized as such with properly controlled residential development throughout the county and yes industry SHOULD be properly located at the Yadkin area north of Southern Pines, and in the Robbins area. My take is for the area of RTE 1 from Magnolia ave on south to at least Pinehurst ave to turn inward and develop within up to the apartment complexes taking entry's off Pinehurst and Magnolia with the car wash road as emergency working with property owners through the whole complex in cooperation making this a possible mall partially enclosed. This leaves the towns with less pressure to not be what they weren't meant to be. This also can take the onus off Midland road and that should be left alone .
