You are correct sir, to a point. Police DO in fact need to have PC (probable cause) to pull ANYONE over - regardless of race or vehicle being driven. While profiling does not automatically lead to a bad person, and it may seem wrong to conduct business in such a way, the statistics say it works.
For example: if someone is driving erratically and swerving across lanes of traffic at 2:00am, statistically speaking, there is a good chance that driver MAY be under the influence; there also may be a simple explanation - such as a bee in the car. Please remember that profiling does not target one specific group though; anyone can be profiled, for example: young African Americans driving an old Cutlass with 22" wheels, young Caucasian's driving a big lifted truck with a confederate flag in the window, Hispanics driving lowriders, etc... Please understand that it is not my intent, nor purpose to single out any race or disrespect anyone with this post, I'm simply stating that EVERY race/group of persons has it's stereotypes - like it or not. Is it a flaw in the human race? That's for another topic, but I promise police aren't the only ones doing it. What I do know is that I have been to different countries in this world where I have been discriminated against simply for being an American, and I have been in the law enforcement profession; I can assure you that I know what is like to be discriminated against.
