Let’s look at the logic vs. the emotion of the pat down process. If you trigger the METAL detector, you are subject to the new enhanced pat down. TSA has stated they pat down to look for chemical type explosives. Think of the convoluted logic there.

Alarm for metal, but looking for chemical. Meanwhile, the successful smuggling of chemicals onboard would not trigger the metal detector, therefore a BVD full of explosives on a person could walk right through the metal detection. The whole process is flawed.

El Al uses state of the art relational database technology prior to you even getting to the airport. They do extensive 3-5way matching of names and alias’s to identify those on the no fly list. Those on the list never see a check station. Then they interview every passenger with random questions designed to expose nervousness, jitters and sweat if you are “packing”. This whole process takes 2-3 minutes per passenger. El Al has offered to pilot this process at a single US airport for analysis, but has been turned down.

Since it’s inception, the current process of tightening security after an incident has captured exactly ZERO terrorists. The terrorists have won. Profile NOW!!

Calling out Heim's mis-statements feeds the beast. If you knew Heim, you would know you he loves confrontation.

And much of the blogger venom is written by one of your columnists Mr. Bouser...one Dusty Rhodes. Perhaps a leave of absence for him is in order to fortify your comments.

Dear Editor,

Levy article has 50 hits...none being posted here. Have you blocked the site?

Good point. TODA has broken new ground on Levy comment. Lot of vitriol there, all comments still attached. Go Pilot!! A good example of why I stopped the home delivery

Careful not to anger the Pilot comment police...they have removed all comments from Jim Heim piece (Levy Dem counterpart) once he started getting hammered online.

One trick pony applies to Pilot aas well

Hello..Ms. Hagan…Spending cuts…do we see that phrase anywhere here?

Also, business tax “credits” to hire people is NOT how a businessperson operates. If you own a business, you hire as a result of a solid business environment and a positive outlook/forecast. You hire people to capture more market share, surround the competition, grow revenue, etc. NOT because you will receive a one time stipend from the federal government. If the “credit” is, for example $3k to hire a person for a $40k per year job, you are out $37k; without the loaded headcount costs of benefits, training etc. which typically add 30% to a new hire cost. If that individual does not help increase your bottom line by $37k, then you are in deficit.

Compare that with a marginal tax bracket freeze (aka Bush tax cuts) and the same business person would tend to hire due to a positive business environment rather than a one time mis-directed tax cut.

Simple business rules. Bring on the Fair Tax, and now you have a red-hot business tax environment and no IRS!

Hey, Jerry Rhodes, You once mentioned that you were able to separate your op-ed Pilot conversations from your DustyRhodes blog retorts. Seems to me that the professional would refrain from “blogging” on your own op-ed piece on the same day…but that’s just me. So Sad.
