I cant believe that one of our officers was killed in the line of duty and people come on here to make these sarcastic, immature remarks. He was a good man, and his family and friends are grieving their loss, GROW UP.
Sorry if I sound bitter and got off topic, however, I simply feel that as long as parents are willing to overlook, justify, and even worse encourage their childrens behavior that they are doing their children a horrible and grave disservice. There is however always hope deep inside me that I will reach just a few students, and that they will pass it on. There are also always those few rare gems in every class, that we get such joy from, and because of them I will always have hope for the future generations!

You can resent that statement all you want but the fact is the majority of young people today have no morals, no values, no manners, feel entitled to every want, and are just plain lazy. I know this because I work in the public school system. Students talk back, refuse to remain seated during class, call teachers names (and not maam or sir). Face it they know teachers can do NOTHING about it.. Many times when calling a parent they ask "and just what do you want me to do about it"?? So you can resent all you want....ITS TRUE, and many parent are enablers

The school system will always have students and parents who dont care, (believe it or not there are parents that simply see school as free day care for their brats) and there will always be new students in the school system. Many of them immigrants that cant read or write english. All NCLB has done for our school system is dumb it down so that many children are not being challenged at all. These students have to sit in a classroom and hear the same thing taught time and time again because some kid just dosent care enough to study on their own, or the child just isnt ever going to understand. There comes a time when you have to say enough is enough so that the rest can move on!!!

Only Three County Schools Reach AYP Goals
