Aberdeen should have to pay fair market value for the land and building! Why should they get a free ride!
Why has Mr. Embrey left out the facts of the meeting regarding the issues of men selling The Pilot Newspaper in downtown, and the fact that police know some are convicted sex offenders, others with long crimnal histories.
Poor journalistic ethics on this issue.
Come on Man!!!!
My name it Kate, I moved here from up North to grace your presence. Since I am now here, all development must now stop, and property owners should just be "fortunate" to own their land, but not develop it for some unspeakable investment return. Although the applicant was seeking the same zoning as his next door neighbor, the neigbors thought he had no right to the same zoning since it would impede their view of the lake. I am not selfish, loathsome, or a NIMBY, but I have made my profit somewhere else, and now seek to deprive the natives of their ability to earn their fortune.
Every hypocrite that lives in a home in Pinehurst had it developed at some point, had to thave the property zoned for that use, and now enjoy their homes. Who are they to deprive others of the same benefit?
Other than flying on his private jet, the Kennedy's are also the main driving force to deny a wind farm off the coast of Cape Cod, typical liberal NIMBY's, do as I say not as I do!!
What happened to the sequester mania? I thought we couldn't afford anything at the local level because the evil Republicans want fiscal sanity!
Nothing is ever "free", how about a tax subsidized breakfast, courtesy of those not paying their fair share!
Smells like self serving NIMBY's that don't want their view blocked, they want to deprive their neighbor of the same zoning they have, so they can keep their view!!!
Split the lot in half and put two ugly duckling two story houses right in their keister.
I guess the workers were against the daily bathing requirement! These people couldn't hold a job at McDonald's!
Coursaire, you are the riot. Would you have to get permission from the bank to sell if for less than you owed? Of Course, it's their collateral!! Owners have an obligation to pay their debts.
Thatcher, I never said the bank owns the land. I said the bank is selling it at the courthouse steps. The foreclosure process is the borrower/owner defaults, bank makes demand, borrower fails to cure default under demand, then bank advertises the property for sale at the courthouse steps under order of foreclosure, and they usually bid it back in at the outstanding balance. If someone wants to bid higher than that, they will usually end up with the property.
That's the foreclosure process in a nutshell, my apologizes for calling you stupid, you may not know how foreclosure works.
