I dealt with two of them on a regular basis, TEN years ago when I was still policing in Moore County. Some things never change.

He had a bad home life and childhood. He was opressed and held down by the man, therefore forcing him to turn to a life of crime. It's a very vicious cycle.

I agree with you Dusty. It's stunning and people never cease to amaze me. I've been a cop for thirteen years and every time I think I've seen it all, someone steps up and amazes me once again. I've been to apartment complexes where 30 - 40 vehicles had been broken into and none were secure and the valuables that were taken were in plain view. This is just a prime example of why officers stop and make contact with these guys who are out walking around at 2 o'clock in the morning wearing back packs. But of course, many would call this contact harassment.

These days, many insurance companies are declining to pay out on a claim if they see that the owner of a vehicle, home, etc., didnt take appropriate measures to protect their valuables. Just an example would be, leaving an Ipad lying on the front seat of your car and leaving your car unlocked. Leaving a loaded handgun underneath the seat of your car and then dropping your car off at the local carwash to be detailed, would be another example. Ipods, laptops, GPS units, and of course, legal tender are all prime targets. A good majority of the time, people are seeking out the vehicles that are left unlocked. They walk around glancing inside the cars and then tug on the handles and take whatever they see or find. Toss on a backpack for transporting and it's basically effortless. They usually take the items straight to a local Pawn Shop. If owners dont keep track of their serial numbers, then it's very difficult to track anything. Yes, if someone wants something bad enough, they're going to smash a window or kick open a door, but all too often crime could be prevented just by using a little common sense. Thieves arent going to be quite as tempted by something that they cant see. Pinehurst may be a small quiet town, but it's not exempt from crime.

Undoubtably, this case warranted a more thorough investigation. We on the outside dont know what really happened out there, we can only give opinions based on what the media is putting out. The point that is trying to be made is that the media and society are feeding off of the whole racial issue. We all have a right to our opinion and I dont care who agrees with me. If we had this exact same incident with the exact same circumstances except Martin was white, we would have seen it on the evening news one time and never heard anything else about it. Whites kill whites and blacks kill blacks on a daily basis, but you never see the media following that. If Zimmerman had been black, we wouldnt still be hearing about it. Hypothetically speaking, if Martin was in fact 100% guilty, the media will find the most innocent looking, home grown, all american photo that they can to portray how much of a monster that the opposition was. Bottom line, media doesnt give a rat's posterior how much blood gets shed, they just want to sell a story. And how is it that Al Sharpton manages to show up every time someone black appears to be a victim of something. Is he a minister or an attorney? Ever notice you never saw Billy Graham picketing outside a courthouse when something happened to a white person?

The ironic thing is that every privelege that the U.S. extends to illegal immigrants are the same things that Americans MUST have in order to function in their country.

It's actually a very vicious cycle. Our youth of today are not afforded equal opportunities all the way around, therefore, forced into a life of crime in order to support their five children from five different mothers. Oh, and dont forget to factor in financing for 28 inch rims and matching hats and shoes for every outfit. Plus, there's the weekly dry cleaning bill for the stacks of Rocawear jeans that must be heavily starched and pressed to the point that they can stand by themself. Once entered into the life of crime, those bully cops have the nerve to arrest them and put them in jail, thus taking them away from their families and therefore forcing their families to live off of the system because their "men" (I use the term men loosely) have been wrongly locked up by the man. Sense the sarcasm yet? Society needs an enema.

If someone is receiving public assistance, there's no reason why they should have a 50 inch flatscreen, "i" anything, or the latest and greatest $200.00 Nike's. If you want to eat T-Bone steaks, drink malt liquor, and smoke White Owl Cigarillos, then go get a job. No I'm not a Socialist, just a Realist.

Thieves get in and out quickly, especially seasoned ones. Police Officers cant be everywhere, especially in communities where there may only be one Officer on duty.

Reasonable suspicion is needed to conduct a traffic stop, not probable cause.
