The commisioners proposed a $50 MILLION Bond issue for the new jail.. Why was there no mention of this in the news article about the County Commissioners meeting? Seems big news to me. This still does not include a new court house or government offices. The proposed bond issue only covers a new jail, and a few public offices, no new court buildings or other county offices. $50 Million is a lot for prisoners.
Also, Commissioner Caddell's company, Southern Software, will benefit greatly from this building. Seems a conflict of interest. Commissioner Picerno also has connections to the company. Seems they should refrain from voting on something that will be a great financial benefit to them.
