Robbins Fills Vacant Town Commissioner Seat
Congratulations to Ms. Green!! There is no doubt that she will bring a new perspective, to a rather divided board. I am glad that the majority chose not to appoint Mrs. Bell. Although she is a nice lady, we have been down that road before. Next on the agenda is to get Boswell and Davis gone, and the town may go somewhere.

Cameron Upsets Clack for School Board; Picerno Wins Big
It was time for Ms. Clack to move over and allow a new perspective on this board. Too bad we didn't receive the same outcome for the seat held by Picerno. It is DEFINATELY time to see that board change!!! Caddell, Picerno, and "Mr. Harley Davidson" need to be replaced, if this county EVER is able to move forward! Hoping that Mr. Saunders will be able to bring new ideas to the table!!

PAC Sets Controversial Tone in Local Judicial Race
I don't know the attorney mentioned, neither do I know Jane Redding. However, I do know Judge Rob Wilkins, and if anybody has any sense, they will NOT cast their vote for him!! There is no doubt in my mind that the results of this poll are true!! I am also sure that the Moore County Republican Party jumped the gun, when they decided to endorse Judge Wilkins. Hopefully for the citizens of all three counties, the results on Election Day will bring us a new judge!!

American Growler Closing Robbins Plant
I am sorry that so many people are losing their job at Growler. I'm hoping that something will come along to help Robbins, in the near future!
On another note, and I don't mean to impede on this conversation, however, The Pilot is not allowing comments on another story that John Chappell wrote, so I'm using this space to comment! You know what they say, "Where there's a will, there's a way!" In reference to the Melvin King article, Mr. Chappell was way out of line by mentioning that Millie King, an employee with the Moore County DA's Office, was related to Melvin King. The fact that she was related to him, was none of anybody's business, and was TOTALLY uncalled for!!! Chappell could have simply said that there was a conflict with the DA's Office in trying the case...plain and simple!! But no, Chappell had to practice poor journalism, which he is notorious for!! I don't recall Chappell broadcasting to everyone that his wife is an employee at the Moore County District Attorney's Office. No, probably not going to hear that one! However, if everyone did know, then they would understand why he is so keen on giving Maureen Kreuger free publicity. You know what they say, "If the boss ain't happy, then nobody's happy!" And, furthermore explains why The Pilot's coverage of the Robert Stewart trial was so indepth, we were getting day to day, "inside the courtroom" information, from his wife Patricia, since she was in the courtroom daily. I guess it's a win-win situation for Kreuger and Chappell!!

Robbins Board Squabbles Over Choice for Town Attorney
I think Doug Gill is a great person, and attorney! So I would have to think long and hard about that, before choosing The Brough Law Firm. That's the only comment I have on the squabble. However, a few other things to mention. First, had no idea that Rocky was so qualified. Since that's the case, you would think he would know what trees belonged to a town, and which ones didn't. Also, you would think he could have chosen a better word than "dad-gum". I felt like I was reading something written by Mater from the movie Cars. Second, Mr. Chappell should realize that the mayor's last name is not Davis. That shows poor proofing skills on his part. And last, "best town manager".....BAHAHAHA......Good one, that was a joke, right??

'Gang of Three' Should Step Down
The Pilot was wanting to compare this to Candor, from the onset, but never did. But leave it to Mr. White, who is on the same wave length as John Chappell. White says that the three fired him over personal reasons, but does not allude to what those reasons were. He also stated that they fired him over objection from the other two board members. Well, last time I checked, three is a majority, so in a vote, they win, no matter how loud the objection may be. Also, he says that the board made the mayor look like a fool, but doesn't explain that one either. Obviously, there is no basis to any of these claims, and Mr. White is mad because he was not allowed to speak at the meeting that he attended. It would be good if Mr. White could respond on here, and explain the personal reasons the board has, and how they made him look like a fool, it would be appreciated. But I don't expect that since I don't see Mr. White being computer saavy enough to do so.

Gov. Beverly Perdue Will Not Seek Re-Election
This was wonderful news to my ears!! She knew that she was history, and didn't want to humiliate herself, but she already did a fantastic job of that!! She rode the teacher band wagon into Raleigh, and then threw them to the wayside, and now wants to "focus on education"!! Good luck with that one! NC will be better off!!

Robbins Board Divided in Accepting Manager's Resignation
I think that it's funny that Davis, one of Haybale's supporters, said, " you did a pretty good job". HA!!, that should make old George feel "pretty good"!! And yes Mr. Davis, it would be a great idea for you "to step away" from this board! As for Theron Bell saying it's a sad day for Robbins....BULL!! She should have said that when George decided to fire the former finance manager, but she didn't, because she also was a large supporter of George. Oh well, enough for now, like Satch9292 says, let's move on!!

Robbins Board Accepts Manager's Resignation, Terms
Can't wait for the article in the Sunday edition. I think I will reserve my comments until that article surfaces!

Carthage Applies to Become a STEP Town
The step proces should be wonderful for Carthage, due to the fact that a town employee, Rocky Davis, is also a Town Commissioner in Robbins. Therefore, he should know all the "ins and outs" of the step program. He seems to know everything anyway! As for Carol Sparks' job coming to an end, well I have the perfect answer for that too. Take George Haybale, former town manager from Robbins!! Rocky Davis, was one of his faithful supporters, so their working relatonship would be ideal, and nothing less than a God-send!! But Carthage better hurry before a large populous metropolitan city snatches him away.....YEAH RIGHT!!!
