They are vampires out to suck you dry until they save your life because of the costly decisions you've made in life. I think it is wonderful that you were treated wonderfully when you came in through the ER and were admitted as an inpatient. Hospitals hope and dream for patients like this...mo' money, mo' money, mo' money! Do you have a regular physician managing your care? Regular annual physicals and routine blood work, including pulse oximetry could have kept you out of the ER and assuming the best, kept you from a costly inpatient stay. The hospital treats you like you are a guest of a five star resort because if you have private insurance, you are! I would venture to say that you've yet to see the bill from your hospital resort stay. It might cause your blood pressure to rise. Remember next time you have bronchitis that the total costs associated with an ER visit are about $2500 compared to $150 for an urgent care. Be sure to also request an itemized bill and look closely at how much you and your insurance are being charged for things like supplies and drugs.

I hope you continue to not smoke and make healthy decisions so you can stay out of the ER and hospital, resort or not.
