I've tried but like I said power and money prevail over truth and justice.

But more people are beginning to question.

Typical Union Pines parent response. RD comes on here and does nothing but predict the scores. Where do you see where he blasts the coaches or the players?? The conference they play in is the problem?? PLEASE!!! You may not remember but before realignment they played the likes of Ragsdale, Eastern Randolph, SE Guilford, Asheboro, SW Randolph every year. Oh yeah then they realigned and played with the Triton's, South Johnstons's and Harnett Central's of the world. Now the conference consists of what could be called a bunch of "cupcakes". So you think they have it bad now??? Oh my you should have been a parent when they played all these other teams. Losing 50-0 was a good night back then. Another typical Union Pines comment about the coaches. Its always the coaches fault. The biggest difference in coaching between the 2 schools is that Pinecrest always their coaches learn on the job. How long should a coach be given until he is replaced? Give Ryan a chance. The seniors that are there now where there before he became coach. Any coach should be given a minimum of 4 years so that he gets the chance to have "his" players in the program. Union Pines has had some very good coaches that were let go because of losing or left because they were tired of the bull from the parents and administration. Union Pines will never attract a good coach because the reputation they have of "moving" coaches along to quick.

The players do the best they can, it's not there or the coaches fault that they are not as good as all the daddies out there want to be. RD keep up the prognastications, I enjoy reading them. PS I agree with your prediction for tonights game :)

Funny you should mention that RD. Word from some of the coaches is that Metzger has already told his staff that he could be leaving soon and they should all explore their options after the season. Seems the Sandhills Optimist Club is having a hard time explaining all of the large "donations" it has been making to the Ironman Football Club over the past five years.

Pinecrest continues to live in a fantasy world of state and conference championships that will never come to pass. Unfortunately being competitive week in and week out is all they ever have or ever will be. Coach Metzger is a fine coach but a wise man once told me a head coach is only as good as the assistants he puts around him. Metzger seems to have a "me" complex and rarely lets his other coaches have much input during gametime. He needs to have more confidence in the men around him and perhaps they can all celebrate the fruits of their labors, whether it be a 10 win season (not likely to happen again unless going back to the old scheduling) or 5 win season (which is more likely to be the norm).

Pinecrest and Union Pines both need to stop living the fantasy and realize there are other good sports at both schools that deserve more attention.

how many times will UP need new coaching before they get it right? When will people realize that they will never be any good at football? Vince Lombardi could walk into the school and not win over there. Coach Riggan is doing the best he can with what he's got. I know the "daddies" will all come on and say how much talent they have wasting away over there but I have seen them play and it just ain't there. The only way they can win in football is if they drop down to 1A level and that won't happen. They need somebody sitting in the office that can tell meddling parents where to stick it and support her coaches rather than trying to cater to the few that are big time donors to the school. Alas it has and always will be money that run athlethics and not he coaches. If Ryan was smart he would just tell the school where to stick the job.
