Maybe splocal should be locked in a car in 100 deg+ temperature for two hours and see how SHE whines when SHE gets let out by SP finest. Maybe SHE will have a different outlook on the entire situation.

Dear nbmoore, please read the letter to the editor at the top of this page. It addresses the fact that the president gave a standing ovation to the president of Mexico for criticizing the new Arizona immigration law. If he had listened to his military advisors and acknowledged the fact that radical Muslems are entering the US through Mexico, along with Mexican citizens, he may have been more responsive to the cries from Arizona. The influx of illegals coming into this country is burdening the taxpayers and our security is being compromised. From your comment, it appears that you are more in support of Obama and the Congressional Liberals who gave the standing ovation, than you are of the LEGAL citizens of Arizona, and the rest of the people who share this financial burden.

Mr. Lain, Don't be surprised at the way Obama praises other leaders and puts this country down. That's just his M.O. Hopefully, the rest of the country will see what an embarrassment he and his cabinet are and voice their dissatisfaction at the next election.

Hey needle...I am fully aware that the children are, in fact, US citizens as guaranteed by the Constitution. I'm very familiar with it.

Let me break down my previous statement so that you can understand. If federal funds were withheld from the illegals (meaning the parents), then the illegals would have no choice but to leave and take the children with them. The reason people are so vocal about this issue is that the cost to support just one child of an illegal alien is 35K per year. This is just another mis-appropriation of tax dollars. This money could be put to more practical use by securing the borders.

Hopefully, all other states will join force with Arizona. Eventually, the illegals will have nowhere to go but back to Mexico or whatever country they came from. Also, if federal funds are taken away from illegals who have dependent children here, they will take them back with them.

You hit the nail right on the head, Bernadine. Our tax dollars shouldn't be used to bail out irresponsible businesses. Since this "bailout" thing started, I can't help but think about how a lot of small businesses failed, due to outsourcing manufacturing services to other countries. Where was their "bailout"?

I have one that will top them all: I picked up on this one from a nurse, and it started to trigger my attention to others uttering the same phrase. Now I'm obsessed and can't help it. It's when people are speaking, and they add "I mean" into every sentence. Drives me crazy!!!!!!!

Flactem, maybe the government should hand out compases with their welfare check, so they will know which way they are supposed to go when all the states follow Arizona. :>)

I heard on the 6:00 news last night that illegals are flockint OUT of Arizona by the tens of thousands because they don't want to get arrested. The only problem is that they are heading north. If all states adopt the same law as Arizona, maybe they'll all head back to their birth home. One illegal commented on the news (through a translator) that she didn't believe she was committing a crime by coming to the US. She said that a crime is when you kill someone. In other words, driving without a license, rape, armed robbery, etc. are not crimes? The reason they come here in the first place, and have kids here is that they get "paid" by the government for each child born here. That's why they keep having them.

I suppose the airlines are profiling too when they ask for picture ID when boarding a plane. I don't see anything wrong with asking someone for proper identification wherever they go. If you are stopped by a police officer while driving, you must provide a valid license.

In the interest of national security, proper identification is the most valid form of proof of citizenship. It the nation had been vigilant all along, states like Arizona wouldn't have to enact and enforce a law that the federal government can't/won't enforce.
All the government needs to do to fund a successful border protection, is to re-allocate the wasted tax dollars that are already being spent to support ILLEGAL aliens. ie. housing, food programs, medical benefits, welfare, etc. The pricetag for this support is $35,000 per year, PER ALIEN. I agree with Dusty's plan; boots on the ground and planes in the air, and this would fund it.
