.. ..one question to ask is why do young men join gangs ? Is it a macho thing or the lack of proper upbringing at home due to broken families? It is a disturbing fact that 27% of white babies and 70% of black babies are born to single mothers. This is an alarming trend. I shake my head when I read that a 17 year old boy shoots and kills a 13 month old baby because the mother would not give the teen her money. Or the 2 boys ages 12 & 10 in Washington State who were planning the rape and killing of a 5th grader. What have we become ? We are better than this. Themis is correct in saying we seem to care more about animal cruelty than our children's well being. So sad.
Thee are approximately 100 parking spaces in the Yadkin parking lot but only one business in operation.Maybe Southern Pines can persuade the owners of Yadkin to set aside several spaces for dog owners. Weekends are the busiest times for the dog park and there are virtually no cars in the Yadkin parking lot at this time!!
..... yesterday in Laurinburg two teenagers invaded the home of a 71 year old man with a B.B. gun The boys were 13 and 16 years old!!!! The other day in Fayetteville, two young men invaded a home where they shot the husband and sexually assaulted the wife. The husband might be paralyzed from the waist down. Again, young men/boys are involved in these crimes. Why?? What kind of societal pressures are causing our young people to carry out these horrendous crimes?
...A Georgia mother alone in her home with her children, shot an intruder who had broken into her house. Meanwhile in California another school shooting was carried out by another young man. The question we have to ask ourselves is why are these crimes committed by young men ? We don't hear young women committing these crimes.
