Life is to be cherished and protected, whether it is the life of a woman or the life of the unborn child she is carrying. Both lives are equally valuable. Unless a woman is in apparent danger of losing her life because of her pregnancy, why would anyone believe she should have a legal right to take the life of another human being, namely her unborn baby? And yes, Moonchild, I am a woman who has gone throught the experience of having several children, and I certainly do believe Roe v Wade should be overturned. God does give us free will to make decisions for ourselves - even when those decisions result in the destruction of precious, innocent lives. Abortion, the taking of an innocent human life, is wrong.
What an extremely clear scientific explanation of why abortion should be illegal! Thank you Tony for making the facts plain - life begins at conception and should be cherished and protected, not destroyed.
To the writer above, contraception IS readily available in this country - just walk into any public health facility and ask - and there are many adults who are longing to, and would love to adopt a newborn baby - there are pregnancy crisis centers here in our county and across our country available to help pregnant women make the right choices for themselves and the baby growing inside them. There is no "sneering, lecturing, or preaching" in these facilities - only people who are williing to listen, and try their best to help in any way possible.
We, the citizens of the United States stand by while innocent, helpless lives are destroyed daily - we are quick to stand up and complain about trees being destroyed, animals being mistreated, or human rights being violated - but how docile and complacent we are when it comes to the lawful extermination of so many of our unborn babies - a sad statement of our country's morality.
And just so you know, Darkwing, writing this most definitely does not make me "feel good that I sure told them," - it makes me sick to think of one more human life being sucked down a drain because the "mother" made the "choice" to have unprotected intercourse, and then had the right to make the "choice" to kill her unborn baby.
I'm not surprised that Hunter Chase from The Pilot is allowing Toda and his buddies to refer to a respected man like Howard Coble as a "dead man walking!"
An email has been sent to Mr. Chase and Mr. Bouser asking for removal of these remarks. They are still here. Now I am asking again - please Mr. Chase - we know you seldom remove your buddy Toda's comments - but this one is insulting and extremely disrespectful to someone who has given much of his life in service to our state! Would you adhere to the guidlines your paper has in place and remove these tasteless comments?
Thank you Mr. Coble for seving us with honor, integrity, and caring. Congratulations on your victory!
Arestorer - YOU try a little respect for those who have lived their life in service to our country! Why would anyone respect someone like you who has the audacity to call Congressman Coble the "walking dead?!?!?"
Oh yeah, thanks for the weather report. I know it's raining - pouring - you go outside and maybe the rest of those sour grapes will wash off. Have a nice day now!
Your arrogant nature is shining through again very glaringly Arestorer! Living in America still gives it's citizens the right to vote for the candidate we choose to vote for. It's plain from your previous disparaging remarks about Mr. Coble that you have little respect for anyone other than those who agree with you and your choices. I voted for Mr. Coble with my EYES wide open! I know of many who did the same. He has served this county and this state very well for many years - can you say the same for yourself? The election is over! Vote again in two years if you don't like the outcome - the majority of us are pleased with this one!
The arrogance continues from other keyboards as well. After reading that one of your pals voted against Commissioner Melton because of a hyphen on a campaign sign, ( Really? Seriously?!?!) it's incredible that you would have the audacity to say the MAJORITY is "clueless to issues and facts," Arestorer! Give us a break! Your amazing ability to hand down judgements and condescend to give us your version of reality is really not appreciated or needed by the MAJORITY. Thanks anyway. Spray that Windex on your computer screen too - sounds like you've got as many sour grapes flying about as the other two.
The MAJORITY of voters knew exactly who they were voting for, this time, and four years ago, when they voted for Jimmy Melton - Wonderful victory for a man who will continue to serve his county with integrity, honesty, hard work, and experience - Commissioner Jimmy Melton!
The arrogance of Bflat and Toda continue to roll off their keyboards. These chronic complainers might want to look into investing in some Windex All Purpose Cleaner to wipe the sour grapes off their computer screens!
The MAJORITY of the voters have spoken! Congrats to the winners!
