I dont think they really care what they did Georgia Man. It is a endless cycle of violence with thugs like these. Until there is actually some kind of real justice given to sub-humans like this it will keep on and on. It makes me sick to hear how some group thought that lethal injection was cruel and inhumane, so it was all stopped. When is the state going to start standing up for the law-abiding citizens and taxpayers who are nothing to these idiots but a source of income and drug induced pleasure. I am so tired of hearing about the convicteds rights, if convicted of capital murder, they should have no rights anymore. I responded in another column about a guy that has been sitting on death row in NC since the late 80s. He was on death row in Georgia for murdering a school principal and riding across 3 states with his head in the back seat. He was released from death row on a technicallity(why Georgia didnt re-try him I dont know). He moved to NC started dating a friend of mines daughter who was 25. She found out about his past tried to break the relationship off. He got mad duct taped her hands behind her, had her kneel down, then shot her in the back of the head. He is still sitting on death row in raleigh for this murder. At the rate the state is going, he will die of old age before the justice system does its job and kills this animal. Meanwhile we keep paying taxes to make him as comfortable as possible.
Seems like someone in the past, should have asked the oil companies,'if you have a failure on a rig almost a mile deep, how would you cap it"? I cant believe they operated these wells with no contingency plan for such a disaster!
I think there is a law in NC that people convicted of a felony and serving time has their children(baby daddy) compensated by the state. Is anyone familiar with this law? If it is true, we have to pay 3 squares a day, medical, dental and now support for their children? I hope i am wrong!!! Our Governor stated recently, in an interview, that the state had to spend the stimulus money that was given by the Feds in a speedy manner. She said that we had to do this so we could get more Federal money! Thus paving streets that do not need resurfacing! spend. spend and spend!!!!!!! Or waste, waste, and waste!!!!!!!!
I want you guys to look at the court record in todays Pilot, June 16th. Look closely at the latino names listed and notice how many have been charged with no operators license. This is weekly in the pilot. Do you think if they have no drivers license that they also dont have auto insurance? I am looking forward to the next election because i am 48 years old and I have never seen so many people fired up about our government.
50 million for a jail? maybe if the cons were not so comfortable sitting in jail, they would stop coming back. I worked in a prison when i first left the military, one thing I learned- there were some inmates that you could not run out of an open gate with a stick. the sheriff in arizona has the right idea, put them in tents and make it uncomfortable as possible. the county could buy surplus army tents for 20 dollars apiece, on 3 acres of land at 6000.00 per acre, lot cheaper than 50 million!
how about spending 31 million dollars for a 4 lane highway from Pinehurst, West to 211 and ending at the Higway 73 turn in west end. maybe 4.5 miles. we dont need it!!!put passing lines periodically going west bound on 211. Traffic arriving faster into Pinehurst will cause the one lane approach to the traffic circle to be a mile long. Dump this project, re-design it but save the 31 million for the taxpayers.

Then Bang, she is taken from you buy a bunch of wanna be gangstas, that if you added all their IQs together wouldnt reach 100. Now the Family of Emily has got to sit in the courtroom and hear the defendants lawyers tell the recurring story of how the defendants came from a broken home, with no father figure, beaten, forced to live in some projects, and never had a chance to learn wrong from right. I am sick of it, there is no deterrance to capital crimes anymore. I know a guy that has been on death row since 1986 or 87 for duct taping a young girls hands, having her kneel down, then he shot her in the head. This guy is still sitting on death row at central prison, having us pay all his medical, dental, and housing. This man had been on death row in Georgia for murdering a school principal. He was released on a technicality when a appealent judge through out the conviction.
Most of these thugs or gangstas, know that if they even get caught it is highly unlikely that they would ever be put to death even if convicted. Why dont we find an acceptable form of execution and start cleaning house on death row. Maybe that would make the wanna be gangkstas think before they committ their next crime! Can anyone tell me when the last execution was carried out in NC?
