The economy is not great. I will give you this , BigE, the economy is better than it was 3 yrs ago. But we got there despite the policies of President Obama. This is a terrible recovery. We should be rebounding so much better than we are.
You are correct that we are not producing qualified scientists and engineers---our educational system is floundering. Part of that blame should fall on President Bush's attempt at centralized education with No Child Left Behind.
In a like manner, Obama's attempts to centrally control the economy should be called No Man Gets Ahead.
JimHeim writes "Now is not the time for cutting government spending, already lower than when Bush was in the White House"
I just love when Mr Heim puts out his "facts". Not once has federal spending in the last few years dropped below that of Bush. Federal spending 2008 = 3.0 trillion, 2009=3.5T, 2010 = 3.5T, 2011=3.6T, and projected 2012 = 3.9T.
@nothingspecial, you wrote : "Your expression of your opinion is awful and should not be allowed."
I suppose once you go after the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, it makes it easier to go after the First Amendment as well.
@ nothingspecial, I cannot imagine I can sway you away from your choice on this amendment but I do want you to recognize the error of this amendment. The current state legislature lost its focus. It should not have tread in this social realm. This will fracture a growing conservative movement and ignite the liberal base. The Tea Party movement stemmed from a largely libertarian hope for a smaller government focused on fiscal issues, not social. This will push moderates away as well as anger many true small government conservatives. This amendment is redundant as a law already stands against same sex marriage. This move may very well swing the legislature back to the Democrats and may even swing the state for President Obama. Was it worth it?
Dr Deucher, I understand what natural law is. It is a foundation regarding fundamental rights as well as using as using reason to define social moral behavior. Ironically, in the calssical sense it helps to define interaction between man and his fellow man. I have never any of the classical philosophers to use natural law to define marriage. I really think you are corrupting the definition of natural law.
I have never before seen the use of natural law to try to restrict the rights of others in society. Historically, they have been used as justification to rise against tyranny and spread liberty. I find it highly ironic that those "most religious" and least likely to believe in evolution are using social Darwinism. I believe you have a confusion between "natural law" and what is considered the law of nature or "survival of the fittest." It is the latter that you are fallaciously promoting.

Don't Dump Biden — He's Just What the Ticket Needs
@DaveyNC, when she said Biden looked more like Einstein I think she must have been referring to his hair. Hair plugs can be tough to manage.

Crazification Factor Still Holding True
Way too ironic with the 27% stongly approve of President Obama. I would imagine Dusty falls into that 27% of craziness.
