Sitting through the meeting last night, listening to the parents of Pinehurst & West Pine, the theme came up that their school would be worse off having these new kids in their school. Not having a child in the school system I wondered if they did not realize that bringing the year round program to their school would keep their class sizes smaller, by bringing in more teachers to their school. The parents of AH children would not take their kids to Southern Pines, period. They are going to stay in Pinehurst. So that means filtering all those children into the traditional schedule at Pinehurst & WP, bringing up class size numbers, while keeping the same number of teachers. It looks like the option of having a dual tract, would accommodate all.
With the article saying it will open against Jack Britt, a spot usually reserved for the Union Pines game, I think its safe to say that "rivalry" is done for now.
