I would prefer that you have the fortitude to answer my question outright and I would also prefer not to be included in your broadly cast accusation that everyone's comments on here are slanderous. And, sorry, my gender prevents me the ability to "man up".

Beg everyone's pardon if my sensibility is too gentile for the columnist to cope with. So what exactly were you referring to when you asked if anyone else was going to "grow a pair" ??

Lacking the literary skills that would prevent you from having to resort to vulgarity and considering yourself a columnist, now THAT'S rich.

I only stated that I also wondered who penned the article. I did not slander anyone.

Perhaps "improvements for the little island in the middle" should include ripping it out and replacing it with one large enough in radius for all vehicles to navigate without having to run over it. Poor little island doesn't have a chance of lasting no matter how much you pretty it up.

Toda, I was wondering the same thing.

Maybe there isn't anyone brave enough to risk getting run over by the tractor trailers whose tire marks encircle the sidewalk around the traffic circle since DOT didn't see fit to use a bit more of the area available to make it more navigable by all vehicles. No doubt the sidewalk will crumble before long under the weight of all those trucks so do you really think some landscaping will make the soon-to-be falling apart median look much improved ?

Dusty, sorry, forgot that your roots run deep, too. Thanks for looking it up and sharing. My point was only this, that justice isn't always just. There are cosequences, legal and otherwise to your actions. The victims here will have scars from this, visible and not, long after the hullaballoo dies down. Being hailed a hero doesn't mean there won't be pain associated with decisions made no matter whether the actions taken were necessary or only perceived so. Being right doesn't mean there isn't suffering involved.

Hasn't anyone besides me (hey, Toda, maybe you do) lived here long enough to remember what happened at the 66 station in Hillcrest when the perp was injured during an attempted robbery ? It is not out of the realm of possibility for law enforcement and the justice system to wrongfully hold the true victims (the Kellys) responsible for injuries sustained by their assailants during the commission of a crime ?? I hope this does not happen AGAIN in this county !!

@ clbvpm - No shocker there. I suppose the slap on the hand they got for any previous offenses didn't convince them that crime doesn't pay. Too bad this thread will probably be used by their attys to get change of venue.
