This is so sad. Thank God we have a law here in Alaska that we can defend our homes, our property, friends, and anyone that is being threatened with harm. This poor man has lost his Mother due to his actions, let him suffer in his agony that will last his entire life. Dusty, we agree on many things, but this is not one. As far as Sarah Palin is concerned, she is a poor misguided soul, that just happens to be smokin hot!! As an Alaskan resident for almost 3 decades, I can tell you with confidence, she could not get elected here for anything!!! We all laugh at her. I fully believe her ignorant comments had NOTHING to do with this horrific act, but to even mention it gives her too much creedence. She is a poor, ignorant soul, that because of her narcisisism (sp) thinks that she could be President. The only reason she wants to be President is because she knows she cannot be queen!! Living in Alaska for almost 3 decades, I can tell you with confidence, she could not get elected for dogcatcher anywhere in this state any longer. She is not who she appears to be, and she will do anything to promote her quest for ruling. Drugskill, the community needs to have LESS backbone when it comes to drugs. If legalization were to happen, things would be much better in our great Nation. People that want to use drugs are going to use them anyway, that is a given. If they were legal and distributed by the state, there could at least be some control over them. The huge thing it would do is stop the violence on our southern border with Mexico, and stop the Afghani war, due to the Taliban not having any money from their drug trade!! The money in drugs is the huge problem. Legalization takes care of that. Wake up America!!
Last time I checked, Good Friday is NOT a holiday!! I am a Federal Worker, and I don't get Good Friday or Easter Monday off. And I am glad about that. That way, I dont have to celebrate hadj, or any of the other "religious" holidays. We are a nation that is multi nationality and we should be aware of other religions as well as Christianity. I am a 10 year AF vet, and would have died for your right to celebrate your religious holidays, but why is your holiday better than some other religion.

I remember as a teen standing at my Dad's gas station in West End looking at something dark to see if it was snowing. We loved snow!! After all these winters up here, with the cold, the dark and the snow...and one gets immune to the fun of it. When you have snow from the end of Sep. till the middle of May, snow is not that exciting!! Cold is different too. Zero feels like summer, well, it does after a month of 30 or 40 below or colder!!! Traffic lights stay yellow longer than the sun in mid winter. But as a newpaper article said once....at least your ice cream cone wont melt if you drop it on your carseat!!
Stephen, I agree one hundred percent!!! If America legalized drugs tomorrow, Mexico and Afghanistan would be out of business. The war could end in both places and, as you stated so well, we could get some regulation into this business. I hate to say this, but look to California. Everyone there wants pot legal, but the growers made sure it was voted to stay illegal. The same principle holds true for the rest of America. If we legalized drugs tomorrow, there would be a war on the Mexican border for a few days....the drug lords using the last of their dollars to fight America for making them legal......they would lose their empire. Keeping them ILLEGAL is the only way drug dealers make their money!!
