Dude, God be with you. I am so sorry that you are in pain, and when you try to use an herb to help you, you are arrested. The only advice I would give you is that as soon as you are able, move to a state that recognizes the advantages of medical marijuana, or where it is legal altogether. There are many of them, and NC is still backwards in that regard. I do not smoke anymore, but absolutely know there are many like you that are suffering, and we happen to live in a country that in many states, they are not compasionate to their citizens. You are more than welcome in Alaska, and there are several other states that would welcome you as well.

If the price of drugs, including cocaine, was almost nothing, people like these persons, possibly even illegals, would be out of business tomorrow. Money is the ONLY reason for trafficing in drugs. Take the money out, and drug trafficing goes away tomorrow....along with the crime associated with it.

Raised overpass, good on and off ramps, and something that resembled a real road. Maybe it might have even kept a few of the people that think Pinehurst is so "quaint" living in Ohio, Maryland and points north, still living there!! The sandhills of NC will never be the same as the Mayberry l grew up in. We had Oscar Bailey as our Andy, and our Otis the town drunk, and Floyd the Barber...all right there in West End. Moore county of today looks nothing like that. As l tell so many in these days...it was a good place to be FROM!!

I am a Ron Paul libertarian, but I think the Donald will make a good enough President. We need someone that can run this country like a business and will not bankrupt us. We currently do not have this in the oval office. Also, I have heard his speak about getting our young men and women involved in other countries and in their struggles. He says, to the victor goes the spoils. I could not agree more, if we are the victor in a conflict, let us go in and AT LEAST take enough to pay for expenses!! What I think we need to do is pull all troops back to US soil and line them along the borders and protect our borders from the incoming hoards of aliens. Dare any nation on earth to attack us, and if one does, and we determine beyond doubt that they did...take nuclear weapons and destroy anything that lives. After the first or second one, that problem will be solved for many generations. America is becoming too watered down, too politically correct and too touchy, feely for my liking....thus a big reason I live in Alaska. DR, like your columns, keep em coming!!

When a politician shows up on an incident, many resources are taken away from their missions to assist with the visit. I am sure him getting federal aid headed to the disaster, was the correct thing for to do. As said before, cut him a break, and that comes from a guy that is no fan of his.

(as it should be) We now have a law in our legislature saying if we see a crime in progress and have the lawful right to be where we are, if someone is going to get hurt, we can use deadly force to stop the crime against that person. You can use deadly force to protect life AND property!! If more states were to use these laws, yes, more people might get shot, but you would see crime plummet. That and legalization of drugs would all but eliminate crime, especially crime against people to rob them.

Right to Self-Protection
