JR44, If l remember right, the Constitution does not even mention trained or care of the firearms we possess. Personally l am professionally trained, and feel confident in practicing gun control (hitting my target) I also believe that we are granted our right to possess any kind of firearm that exist. I also live where people are not calling for the kind of things that you are.
Our Senators here (Begich and Murkowski) both voted the correct way in this vote. We cannot have a registry for guns. It is the beginning of the govt. ability confiscate firearms. Not that this administration would do that, but it must be protected so NO administration can do it. That US Constitution sure is pesky when it comes to these things.

JD, Yes, that is a bit radical, especially from a libertarian like myself. I do not view those gang members as human. I think they are much more akin to a varmit animal. Thankfully, we have very little gang activity here. With our laws, we can protect other citizens from this, and the "wanna be" gang members that we do have know this. They know if they pull out their pistol, there is a better than even chance that someone will whip out theirs and end their life. Thank God that we are allowed to carry without permit, and have laws that allow us to protect life, limb and property with lethal force. It makes for a more polite society.

And to add to that, if someone, anyone, is crossing but not at a crossing, the troops drop them in their tracks. I am talking about coming or going, drop them. At that time, our borders can be considered secured.

If they submit, then run their criminal history and if they have done gang violence, lock them up forever. period. If not that, take them out and shoot them, after a trial of course.
