Liberas always believe that their leaders are reincarnations of Trotsky. When they find them to be closer to Lennin and Mao they always seem surprised.

Obama was only talking about the virtues of Socialism and wealth re-distribution. His real actions show that consolidation and control of power is more important than principle.

For those who do not remember the spirit of Watergate and the type of stinging criticism we dare not express about Obama, check out these songs

The reported aim of our Syrian intervention is to strengthen the Democratic forces I'n the Free SyrianArmy. They are supposedly those who peacefully protested Assad and were met with army bullets. President Obama announced his intention to help these forces depose Assad. Essentially, these are the forces that favor Western Jeffersonian democracy and free speech.

The truth is that these forces are almost nonexistent. The Syrian Civil war is a war between two Muslim sects and the Allawite subsect that has dominated Syria and Lebanon by force for decades.

President Obama's stated goal is to arm and aid the Democratic forces a's he triIed to do I'n Lybia and to a lesser extent I'n Egypt and Tunisia. Most of that was a disaster a's was Iraq and Afghanistan for his predecessor.

@pulledpork: there are rare instances of bridging the Suni/Shia divide. However, these cases are so rare that we cannot base our foreign or anti terrorist policies upon them. Moreove, I'n places like Syria and Iraq the entire war is based upon this tribal antipathy

Jim: your point is well taken. But, one of my big criticisms about our President is that he has ignored the needs of the inner city, an area which champions him. From the war I'n El Salvador to the war I'n Afghanistan, we have too often sacrificed inner city youth to the drug lords we support I'n foreign countries based upon other foreign policy considerations.

And that is a criticism for every President from 1980 to 2013.

Jim:

It was passed under Clinton's signature on December 8, 1993. He pulled for it and signed it over union obJections. He owns it the sane way Obama owns the sequester. Both could have issued a veto.

Everyone has ideas. It takes an advocate like Clinton to make the idea a reality.

Jim: The biggest reason for massive union decline can be traced directly to Bill Clinton's support of NA F TA. Today, Mexican labor produces cars using 12 hour workdays and pay that would barely furnish enough money to buy a taco. When President Obama went to visit Mexico last week, his agenda was on expanding the trade policy that destroyed the union middle class.

You see, Obama and Clinton are Socialists more concerned with raising the living standard I'n the Third world than maintaining it I'n our world. The result for them is that American workers are. expendable.

Ross Perot was correct. Our jobs have been sucked dry. Reversing that is an attempt to restore American Exceptionalsm.

@jimRussell: then the exception proves the rule, Government intervention raises and never lowers prices. Of course there are times this "penalty" is acceptable and even necessary. But the basic rule needs to be understood.
