A little history how youth with goals can overcome.

"Born on February 22, 1732 to Augustine and Mary Ball Washington, George Washington grew up on various tobacco farms and was taught basic schooling by tutors. As an early teen George copied into a notebook “Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation," which includes admonishments such as do not sleep when others are talking and brush your clothes at least once a day. This advice would come in handy as George had very little guidance in his teen years. His father died when George was eleven and his mother had her hands full with his brothers and sisters. George traveled a bit as a young adult and enjoyed staying at his half brother's home, the famous Mt. Vernon."

@dp6 You are correct! Not intended to judge anyone, not my place. But, young people with direction, Christian or not normally display their self in that manner. An important lesson I learned in my youth was first impression's will always be how you are remembered, it's sometimes tied to your personal testimony, which your buried with.

@JimHeim

The issue isn't being "rebellious", the issue is Tia Wallman was asking for respect to those who wear their pants below the waste line. I don't think Tia actually speaks for the youth of today. The problem I see with this generation is our youth is not willing to give up the rebellious behavior and just grow up and move on as adults, instead they stay home with their parents playing video games until they're 30 years of age.

If a young adult walks into my office today looking to enter the professional field with their pants sagging and with more tattoo’s and piercings than a carnival junky, I personally ask them to leave the facility and come back when they are cleaned up and have a serious direction in their life.

I don not get "bent out of shape" in regards to "pants below the waste line" or Tattoo's, piercings. I just just simply will not freely give my respect to the people who follow this trend. I will however show them how to find Jesus Christ.

@buddysmith ...again

I can see my belt buckle just fine!

What's odd about your observation in regards to "obesity" is that our nations youth account for most of it. The same youth that loves to wear their pants below the hip line. Soooo, the point your making is??

Miss/Mrs. Wallman, Respect & dignity is NOT a God given right, it is taught first then earned! The problem with our Country today is messages like this being sent to our youth. I had to earn respect, I had to learn how to show dignity, it was not given to me, I earned it and our youth today also needs to earn it. Btw, I was raised poor as poor can get and my parents still found the time to raise me right, which included how to dress and act. I think God every chance I get for the butt kicking’s I received when I was out of line. I'm a better person for it and also a very successfull professional with values putting God & family first in my life.

Youth today that takes steps to go above and beyond what Society has to offer show real character and should be awarded for it. Wearing "Thug wear" no matter what color a person is not the first step towards respect.

False sense of entitlement = Your message in the Pilot

@buddysmith "...We are fat and lazy"

Speak for yourself! I also travel the globe very often, and still have no problem criticizing "thug wear", also I'm in better shape than most Europeans who smoke like freight trains! Most (not all) EU's are thin because they smoke, drink like fish, and only work 4-days a week and do not travel.

I say let the "Thug Wanna be's" wear their pants down below the hips, ankles, etc...! Makes the officers job much easier apprehending them when they're running from the crime scene.

"After all Timothy McVey is a Terrorist yet, I have never heard anybody call Christians Terrorist"

Timothy McVey was never charged with Terrorism. He was charged with 8 counts of 1st degree murder and three federal weapons charges.
