Correction: 5 posts of wdd101st!
jimt-- I've read the last 4 posts of wdd101st on this thread. I'm a conservative, and I'm not embarrassed at all. Can you answer his questions? And I agree with you. Maher can be funny. He can also be disgusting. Tell us where you give him a pass for being "funny."
And JER was pretty much spot-on with the first post on this thread. The "Penny Plan" is simply a variation of the Bowles/Simpson approach-- both trying to get to the same fiscally responsible place in a slightly different way. Both of which Obama ignores.
wdd101st-- I'd prefer the word "mistaken," until proven otherwise. And I bet JimHeim will respond to the report now that he knows about it. I like your posts, by the way! I'm assuming the "101st" refers to the Airborne Division. Thank you sir for your service!
And hopefully the posts that follow will be devoid of insults and name-calling. One can only hope.
Great post, wdd101st! Let's see where the liberal "outrage" leads us.
The writer here (I believe) is referring to Rep. Connie Mack's "Penny Plan." Even Lanny Davis, a liberal, thinks it is a great start. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/08/04/why-rep-connie-macks-penny-plan-is-worth-second-look/. Have a look yourself. I'd really like to know what all of you think. Thanks!
Courseaire-- Would you be so kind as to let me know what DR's acronym "IOKIYD" stands for? I tried to find it from his earlier posts but they have all been removed. Thanks!
Ah, levity has been employed to offset an otherwise boring and malicious thread. Thanks Arestorer!
JimHeim-- "That blue ribbon committee (Simpson/Bowles) never issued a report so there was nothing to act on." I think you are mistaken. http://www.fiscalcommission.gov/sites/fiscalcommission.gov/files/documents/TheMomentofTruth12_1_2010.pdf. The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, headed by Simpson/Bowles at Obama's request, did in fact issue a comprehensive report, with their stated recommendations. Obama ignored it. Read their report, and let us know what you think. Thanks!
