And JER was pretty much spot-on with the first post on this thread. The "Penny Plan" is simply a variation of the Bowles/Simpson approach-- both trying to get to the same fiscally responsible place in a slightly different way. Both of which Obama ignores.

The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, headed by Simpson/Bowles at Obama's request, did in fact issue a comprehensive report, with their stated recommendations. Obama ignored it. Read their report, and let us know what you think. Thanks!
