Carriage Classic in the Pines Horse Show This Weekend
Does anyone know what time the parade starts? What the best viewing place will be? I’ve even looked on the Driving Clubs web site and there isn’t any information there about the parade. Thanks.

Old Robbins Siren May Wail Again
Good morning Clarabelle, see what I mean, another story and you’ve just had twist it into something political. Do you feel better for it?

Police Investigate Swastika on Carthage Church Sign
@CLARABELLE: In response to your comment above, I have to ask just why it is at every turn of events you “Democrats” find it necessary to turn everything into something political. There wa absolutely no cause for you to be so rude to make such a statement. I grew up in a household with Democrat parents; NEVER did I hear them say a disparaging word about any other political group. Today it has become the norm to treat people as nasty as you can, however, when someone treads on your beliefs you run screaming and shouting foul play. Clarabelle, don’t you think it’s high time you and your ilk took your heads out of your “DONKEY” and start trying to set and example instead of being the example? Others can be just as nasty to you as you are to them. It just doesn’t have to be so. Everyone has two things that should be kept to them selves one is their opinion

Ashten's Team Fired Up for Cooking Competition
@OldSpook Okay, not that Chef Hannon would even consider my input but... how about North Carolina Oysters served on the half shell with a dusting of sea salt and chives served with a bottle of well chilled Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin for starters. Followed by a nice filet of Lemon Pepper Atlantic Cod swimming in melted butter with garlic and a bottle La Crema Chardonnay. Ending with a 50-50 North Carolina Salad mix topped with a Lobster Newburg garnish? Chef Hannon said he liked cooking any kind of seafood. Good luck Chef I can’t wait to see you in the “RED Jacket.”

SP Police Release Photo of Robbery Suspect
You would think with all of the technology we have today surveillance cameras could get better photographs. They could also be installed at a normal height to capture every detail of the criminals face.

Four Arrested in Connection with Theft of Auto Parts
Bravo! After 18 years service with one of America’s largest computer companies my job went to India. I’m just too young to retire and old enough to know that making excuses isn’t going to feed me or pay the bills. Every morning at 4:30 I get up drive an hour and thirty five minutes to Raleigh put in a 10 hour day drive home an and make ready for the next day. If at age 60 if I can do it then, by GAWD so can anyone else who WANTS to earn a living.

Save Crape Myrtles
Really? Trees may well be a renewable resource. So while we’re at it lets clear Linden Road those trees are way to close to the road. How about all the way down Midland Road to Long Leaf and again where they pick up again after the stop light. Let’s also flatten all the trees in the middle of the traffic circle so that we can see other cars on the other side of the circle in order to calculate just the right split second to stand on the gas and zoom into the loop from hell! I even think it would be a very good idea to cut down all the trees in Cleranden Gardens those roads are too narrow to navigate with all those darn trees. Or maybe better yet make it a law to turn off the cell phone, apply make up, forage around in a pocket book, shopping bag, or anything else that could possible distract a driver driving anywhere from 5 – 10 miles over the speed limit. That way the trees would behave them selves and not jump out in front of an incompetent driver. Simply slow down, the life you save my well be your own.

House in Horseshoe Set for Closure
I wonder if Preservation North Carolina (PNC http://www.presnc.org/index.php ) could take it off State’s hands. The property could be then sold to and interested party (Dick Jenrette comes to mind) or could be used as a museum like Winterthur in Delaware with a small charge for allowing people to visit and enjoy the home and surrounding areas (http://www.winterthur.org/ ) the property must by now have protective covenants on it that would protect it from being destroyed. In this rotten economy keeping people employed is most important, however, protecting our past is just as monumental. It’s important to start making changes that better serve everyone and getting those we empowered to represent us and stop the bickering back and forth and get to work.

Lady of the House
If Donald Trump becomes president, would his wife be considered the first lady of the United States and get to live in the White House being that she wasn’t born in the United States and can barely speak English?
There you are a typical comment from an ugly American! Why do you think the United States is looked upon with such disregard? I’d bet you a dollar that she’d at least show you her Birth Certificate proving she is who she says she is. And as for barely speaking English this entire country hasn’t been speaking it for years.
And as for the White House – trust me it has had worse living in it and the carpet in the Oval Office has seen plenty of wear and tear over the years. Isn’t that right Monica?
