Jim I thought that one of the arguments to support the affordable health care act was that we are all required to buy automobile insurance? And I thought that was "apples and oranges" because we are only required to buy automobile ins if we own an automobile.

Health insurance companies paying for birth control? Should automobile insurance companies pay for vehicle maintenance? Why or why not.

AFCHIEF, Thanks for the posts and welcome. Dusty you should volunteer to help give these young soldiers counsel. And I think your defence strategy should be to call what these young men did, "art" since it was photographed and videotaped. After all I recall a few years back "liberals" were all for supporting the crucifix in a jar of urine. Where was the outrage then? Of course releiving yourself on the fallen enemy is wrong but don't dilute yourself into thinking that its anything more than WAR I know people who were in Vietnam and you know what, they did things they were not proud of either but Have gone on to do great things for their families and communities. Its a "fog of war" thing nothing more. Liberals should support our soldiers at least as much as illegal aliens, soldiers REALLY do, do the jobs they don't want to do

Projected surpluss Jim, There is a difference, I wasn't refering to the national debt or the deficit spending. I was talking about the unemployment rate. Another talking point I've been hearing from MSNBC is that Obama has created (or saved) more jobs than W did in his terms. Jim I'm sure you remember in Macro courses that "full" employment is usually accuring when the unemployment rate is between 4 and 4.75%. Therefore the supply of labor is not there for job creation. That's alot different scenario than what we see now.

You know harleyman the economy was not in fine shape when W took office check your facts please. " btw - I do drive my Harley quite a bit but probably not as much as you use that toy each night :)" ...Harleyman. Not sure what you mean by that but it sounds a bit sgt viperish. Manners aside, I'm kidding you a bit about the Harley no offense. I have an old 1976 Bmw R90S that I love, I had a T-Shirt one time that said " Twenty thousand dollars and 2000 miles doesn't make you a biker" glad to here you're a biker and not just a lover of black clothes.

"You don't balance budgets by shrinking revenues" ...BigE. You're right but don't assume every Republican to be a "hayseed" dummy that just doesn't get it. In college I studied Keynes' theories as well as Milton Friedman, the Laffer Curve et all. But europe has been following Keynes theories for years (John Maynard was an Englishman) see where it got them. Grow the damn pie, and everyone eats more. This country and its people can fix it, if the gov't will move aside a bit. No absalutists on either side. Just open your mind a bit, I'm willing too, Its your country and mine too we need to work together more, all of us. I think most of us had decent educations, at some point we were studying similar subject matter, I was a business major with a concentration in econ. My profs I think were admirable in the way they fostered debate in class, but we were gentleman about it and differing views were not met with "you're an idiot" or worse.

Hardley-Drivenson, again just wondering what era you were refering to, the economy Bush "inherited" wasn't all rainbows and lollypops but the economy turned around, and true it was heading down hill fast when O'bama took office. Of course that had nothing to do with the democrat controlled house and Senate. See, the blame game goes both ways and I think everyone wants our nation to succeed, but to have as your figure head a man whos nature is of a victim and not a leader, one who had rather blame others rather than inspire a nation to grow its way out of this is pityfull, not at all like Kennedy, not at all like Reagan, not even like FDR. Obama was not a "blank canvas" as we were told, he was known quantity that virtually no one had the guts to speak up against, not a leader, a myth that had rather vote "present" than take a stand on unpopular issues, or make others a scape goat. We'll fix this mess and quietly sit back and let you guys complain about how mean, short sighted, and simplistic minded we are and at the end of the day yours and our lives will improve and soon enough you can vote another Carter or Obama into office. By the way you know Harley is a clothing company that makes motorcycles on the side, right. ;) I'm a Wrangler man myself.

Hardley - Ableson, Are you talking about the Bush era when the unemployment rate was under 5%? You do know that Bush was not a conservative don't you?
