My 11 year old son and I attended a Bus Safety ceremony at the state fair on Oct. 17th. We were both surprised to learn that 3980 everyday in NC people drive past a school bus with the stop arm out. That could be 3980 children hit daily in NC. The Robbins accident was not like this. Both witnesses and the Hwy Patrol have stated that the bus was slowing to stop the caution lights were flashing and Mr Binkley had reduced his speed. It was dark, Slayton ran into the road and was hit. A terrible horrible accident. My son knows Slayton and is very upset that he was injured. As parents we must stress to our kids how important it is that they not cross until the bus has come to a complete stop and to check that all traffic is stopped. In our case either myself or his mother are at the bus stop in the mornings. As drivers we need to be extremely careful when approaching school buses. etting to your job or appointment is not more important than a childs life. As citizens we need to support our Educators and Law Enforcement Officers. Life is short, children are precious. Lets all try to be more careful. We are praying for Slayton.

Thanks Frank for the great work. You are sending a message out there that they can't get away with it anymore. Hopefully the practice of abandoning unwanted pets will be erradicated.

Kindness is a rare comodity in todays society. There is a great sense of kindness and community togetherness in the Robbins area. It's great to see people helping people. We all carry a kindness kit with us. The tongue is the main tool. So remember to be kind to all people. Mr. Chappell you do a great job in covering news worthy events in the Nothwestern sector of the county. Thank You and keep up the good work.

Congratulations Larry and Nina. Thank You for everything that you did for all of us. My only regret is that you won't be there for my son. I graduated in 1981 from North Moore. Not a week has passed in the last thirty years that I haven't thought about something that one or both of you taught me. May God Bless You in your retirement.

You are quite superior in your views. Very intelligent indeed. Tactful to say the least. Action is the real measure of intelligence. I plan to act on my comments in the interest of my children. What about you?
