In the news everyone is up in arms about the supposed forced tax we will have if Obama care goes into effect but no one is upset that our legislatures are making laws to take away our land rights? This is so wrong! Are we being made so helpless by our government's infringement on our lands that no one feels they can fight the mighty gas companies or the greed of people in charge? If you want to get upset about something you should be upset about the Fracking industry and what they are doing to our country and our landowners rights.
JimHeim, I totally agree with you. That was my point, keep choice but teach responsible sexual behavior and stop attacking women. Make adoption socially a positive and admired choice and the abortion rate will go down.
Your second paragraph brings up something I've always believed. If society and in particular the religious right were to change their demeaning attitude towards single pregnant women, supported and even were involved in the adoption business sending a message that if they want to make a choice, then choose the gift of a child to a family who desperately wants one. Just making laws isn't going to be enough and in fact it is the cowards way out. Getting involved and making a significant societal change is what is needed to really make a difference.
Great letter, thank you! The expectation of perfection here is ridiculous and pathetic; if you haven't learned by now that no one is perfect including yourselves then I'd say you are not only imperfect but ignorant and stupid. Isn't it possible to concede to a good point made by a writer for the sake of conversation or does it always have to be a bunch of grumpy old white men who are determined to see only their view against the rest of the world.
I don't mean to be insensitive but I don't understand the need for surgery when diet and exercise is extremely successful when one is motivated. I can't believe that taking part of her stomach that controls hunger is the best way to go for someone so young. I know what it takes to really diet and watch calories and it's hard but you don't gain success unless you work at it.
"Wolferman charges that Hillary’s recent concussion is alleged" He must have been getting his news information from the great entertainer RUSH who will say anything to keep his angry audience coming back for more.
In response to the article, isn't it more responsible to teach safety and educate rather than create laws that won't be followed? People are so afraid of guns because they don't know anything about them. I'ts like owning a car but never learning to use it until an emergency and then the stupid driver kills himself.

So Many Gender Barriers Abolished in One Lifetime
I've never understood why women couldn't do something if they were good at it and wanted to do it.

Obama's Attitude Is Disgusting
John, I remember these quotes from GW: .
"I'm the commander -- see, I don't need to explain -- I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president."
"If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."
"I'm the decider, and I decide what is best."
So, get over yourself and your complaining!
